Lauren Henderson lived an extraordinary life, at least that's how she liked to describe it.
She was born into a loving family, her mother was as sweet as they come and her father was just as caring... until he decided to leave his family. He left a daughter that looked up to him, who saw him as her hero. He left a son that still needed his love and affection.
Lauren had to mature earlier than she would've liked. She was always there for her brother and she never left her mother's side when she heard her cry herself to sleep.
But through all of it she never stopped smiling. It was like her remedy, the only thing that could keep her from falling into the darkness that kept growing ever since her father's departure.
She loved humor and making her friends laugh, something she had in common with her brother.
Despite the heartache, the trauma and the dark nights she wished she could forget; Lauren Henderson loved her life.
Until it all went downhill.
