Lauren opened her eyes to find herself lying on the kitchen floor. She shot up to see that the darkness was gone and she was back in the real world, and the clock on the wall signaled that it was 4am.
She scrambled off the floor and looked out the window. It was no longer raining, and the sky was clear from any raging thunder or lightning.
She walked to her room and collapsed on her bed, refusing to let her mind think about what happened earlier. As soon as her head hit the pillow she was fast asleep.

"Jonathan!" Lauren followed Jonathan's silhouette in the hallway.
By the time she caught up to him, she was out of breath. "Hey. You okay?" he asked with a chuckle when Lauren couldn't answer due to the lack of air in her lungs. "One sec" she said as she caught her breath.
"I'm fine. Nancy hasn't stopped nagging about the Halloween party at Tina's" Lauren said and Jonathan smiled as soon as she mentioned Nancy's name. That however didn't go unnoticed by Lauren, who smirked at the Byers boy in front of her.
"Yeah she's been doing that with me too...but mom wants me to go trick or treating with Will" he said as they passed by a flyer. "Why are you 12 again?" Lauren asked and he rolled his eyes.
"You know how mom's been since last year" he said and she nodded. "So are you going?" he asked her and she shrugged.
"I'll go if you go" she told him and he sighed.
She looked up at him to see the complicated look on his face. "Just let me know what you decide" she gave him a small smile before walking to her locker and swapping her books.
She saw Billy pass by and when she saw Carol walking next to him she almost laughed out loud...how typical.
When she closed her locker she almost screamed when she saw Billy standing right behind it.
"Something funny, Henderson?" he asked as he leaned on the locker next to hers.
"Jesus you scared me. How do you know my name, Hargrove?" she asked, tilting her head to the side.
