So I was rewatching the music video for Not Today and damn.... how does one look so intimidating with pink hair? Like come on Jimin, you're not even trying and you look aggressive
————————————————————Jungkook tossed his blazer to the side and untucked his shirt, walking out to the side of the piano. Yoongi smiled at him, causing Jungkook to giggle at the gummy cuteness.
The black haired boy plays a different song, something much faster and much more playful. Jungkook then began to dance, something he often did on his alone time.
Yoongi enjoyed playing for the young prince while watching him dance. He was often so mesmerized by the smooth motions and fluid movements that he sometimes messed up, making the younger boy laugh cutely.
Very few people heard Jungkook's true laugh, and to be honest, they didn't want to share it. It was something so interesting and unique that it made anyone instantly smile and feel happier.
Except now Taehyung was part of that lucky few, as he was still listening and watching the two together from the door. Without even realizing it he walked in, his feet somehow moving against his own will. Yoongi noticed the boy first, but he just smiled and ignored the newcomer.
The black haired pianist had no idea who the red haired royal was, nor did he know how Jungkook felt towards him.
Instead he continues moving his fingers gracefully against the keys, slowing down the song so that Jungkook's dancing had gone softer.
Taehyung just stood there with his hands in his pockets and his head tilted to the side. He had no idea Jungkook was a dancer, let alone any good. In fact, Taehyung was almost one hundred percent sure this was the best dancing he's even seen.
Even the Kim Kingdom's entertainment wasn't this good.
After what felt like an eternity of Jungkook's beautiful dancing, he finally noticed the vibrant red color of the older royal in his peripheral vision. He immediately stopped, huffing quietly and placing his hands on his hips. He narrowed his eyes and tilted his head back, peering in annoyance at Taehyung.
"What are you doing here? How long have you been there?"
"Well I came to talk to you... and long enough to notice that you're actually really good. Like, just- wow."
Jungkook looked over at Yoongi who was just sitting silently on the plush piano bench and motioned for him to leave. The boy shrugged, nodded, and left the room, leaving the two princes to talk on their own.
"Listen, you can't tell anyone what you saw-"
"Why not? The whole kingdom, no the whole region should see you dance."
"No, it's just something I do on my own time. It's my own thing..."
"I guess I can keep it a secret, it's the least I can do after acting like a jerk."
Jungkook stumbles, quite literally, completely taken aback by the words that Taehyung just spoke.
Jungkook thinks he's joking. There's no way he's apologizing... unless there was a different meaning behind it.
"Look, I don't want to ruin your perfect life anymore than you want to spend your precious time teaching me." Yeah, there's the snark. "So, I'm going to do these lessons the way you want me too so that I can leave this kingdom as soon as possible."
Jungkook stands there, his dark brown locks messed up from dancing, his pale blue eyes wide and calculating, his breathing now softer and gentle. He smiles gently, grateful that Taehyung is willing to try so that he can finally do what he's planned.
"Thank you." Jungkook says clearly, walking up to the older with his hand out. Taehyung glances at it quickly and then locks eyes with Jungkook, carefully grasping him with his large hand and shaking firmly.
He can't help but let his mind wander to the feeling of shaking Jungkook's hands. He notices how warm and welcoming it feels, tender and smooth.
But they look different, manly and strong, given away by the veins popping out that run past his wrist and disappear under his white blouse carefully rolled at his elbows.
Taehyung quickly takes his hand away, realizing he's been staring at it and holding it for to long. Jungkook clears his throat, pretending he wasn't admiring the older's long, slender fingers and soft, smooth, sunkissed skin.
"So when's my first real lesson?"
"As a matter of fact, right now."
"What is it?" Taehyung asks, one eyebrow raised curiously. He'll admit, he definitely feels a bit... happier, now that Jungkook isn't scowling at him. Seeing him smile, even if it's just a little bit, makes him feel a little at peace, and like this whole stay won't be so bad.
"Well, since you've, sadly, already seen me dancing... I might as well teach you. You'll need to learn in the event of a gathering in the future. A King should always know how to dance properly."
"Oh..." Taehyung smirks.
Does Jungkook think he doesn't know how to dance?
I mean, his style is completely different than Jungkooks, he prefers faster paced songs with heavy beats. He moves quick and firmly, but the older royal knows how to slow dance. He was taught at a young age.
"Yoongi most likely left and is already on his way back to town, so we'll just have to suffice without music."
"Okay, I'm sure that'll be fine." Taehyung's used to dancing without music. He doesn't have the luxury of a personal pianist, no one seems to tolerate him long enough.
"So..." Jungkook mumbles, mostly to himself as he steps towards the middle of a large space. Taehyung follows him and they stand in front of each other. Jungkook holds a hand out next to him, waiting for the older red haired boy to grab it, Taehyung does and clears his throat.
"So... who's leading?"
"You lead, seeing as this is a lesson for you, and the King always leads."
"Okay." Taehyung mumbles. Why does he feel so shy? He glances up at Jungkook, wondering if he's feeling the same- but the Jeon Prince stands there with an unreadable expression while placing his other hand on Taehyung's shoulder.
"Loosen up a bit." Jungkook whispers for some unknown reason. This whole situation just feels too quiet, making the younger whisper without meaning to.
Taehyung sighs and shakes his head quickly. He breathes and pushes his nerves away, gripping the younger's waist firmly and then pulling him closer. Jungkook gasps quietly but waits for Taehyung to lead, in which he does quickly after.
Taehyung smirks and Jungkook frowns, wondering how he's so good at this.
Has he done this before?
He moves swiftly and fluidly, he's had to.
Taehyung lets go of Jungkook's tiny waist after giving it a little squeeze and pushes him, forcing him to twirl out until their connected arms are spread out to their full length.
Taehyung smiles, a big box grin, and tugs on Jungkook's arm so he spins the other way, back into Taehyung's embrace until he's firmly flushed against the older's chest. Jungkook's pale doe eyes widen when Taehyung lays his chin on his shoulder and sways from side to side, his arms completely trapping Jungkook in his embrace.
But before Jungkook can say anything, not even sure what it would be, Taehyung lets go and dips Jungkook backwards, one firm hand supporting him on the small of his back and the other still grasped in his hand.
