Chapter 3

Hea PV

"Mother!"
I get up quickly, hearing the library door open.
"Forgive me, I thought that ..."
I can hardly believe my eyes;
He is exactly as I had always imagined, in his white and red uniform, and regal bearing.

"Have I scared you?"
He asks me, and I wake up from my thoughts.

"No! You didn't scare me"
"Well..Earl Jung Wooyoung, at your orders my lady"
He says, making me a slight bow to my surprise.

"It is my honor..We have waited you for so long"
I admit with a timid tone.

"Have we met before?"
He asks, looking at me better.

"No, I have been at the palace for some years ... but I saw your portrait in the Countess's room"
"My mother!"
He says, as if he suddenly remembered.

"Follow me, I'll accompany you to her"
I start walking towards the door and he hastens to precede me to open it for me.

"Countess, there's someone for you"
I say opening the door of her room.
"Mother"
The Earl says entering the room and going straight to his mother on the bed.

"Wooyoung!"
The countess exclaims, incredulous that her son has returned.
"My son, how long! Come here, hug me"
Seeing this scene moves me, but I leave the room to give the two the right privacy.

I go to the kitchen and everyone is talking about the newly arrived Earl.

"He grew so much, I almost didn't recognize him"

Seonghwa asks amazed, entering the kitchen.

"Didn't you see the white horse outside?"

"Yes, but I didn't imagine it was of Earl Wooyoung"

The hours seem endless;
Today the countess will spend the whole day alone with her son and I can't do anything but be happy for her ... but at the same time I'm bored to death because I have nothing to do.
So I decide to go for a walk and head for the stables to get my horse.

"Hea!"
I turn and hear a familiar voice behind me as I adjust the reins to my horse.
"Let me help you"
Seonghwa tells me with a smile.

"Where are you going?"
"I'm bored and thought I'd go to visit a friend"
"Do you want me to accompany you?"
Seonghwa proposes me gently, holding out his hand to help me get on the horse.

"It is not necessary, thank you"
I greet him and head to meet my friend Lucilla.
