THE VANISHING OF WILL BYERS
SHE WOKE UP WITH A MAJOR HEADACHE. Jessica Johnson and her best friend Steve Harrington stayed up late drinking last night, even if it was on a school night, they didn't care.
Jessica didn't care about a lot of things recently.
Ever since her father left them she spends a lot of time partying with Steve and his friends. She's been through a lot. Her father left with no way of telling them, he just disappeared.
He was gone.
No letters, no emails, and no phone calls to explain the reason to why he left. After he did her mother was a mess. She couldn't sleep, wouldn't eat, she'd stay up most nights sitting in the living room crying thinking something bad must've happened to him. She didn't think that was the case. If Jessica knew her father, it was that he was never faithful to her mother.
He always was interested in other woman, and she could tell he didn't love her the way he used to.
Which was, incredibly sad, if you'd ask her. She thought they would be together forever. Things change, she guessed.
Now she's been acting out. Coming home late, spending nights at Steve's, going to parties outside of town occasionally shoplifting at Joyce Byers store closer downtown that she works at, dies her hair black. She's almost been caught, twice, stealing, and she hasn't done it since.
Jessica never knew who she was. She's always felt lost, like life didn't matter. Everyday she wakes up and doesn't feel like she's in her own body. Steve has been helping her keep afloat.
She's been spending most nights at his place, and she is rarely ever home.
She's always been known to be the good girl in Hawkins, but really, know one knew who she was because she didn't really know herself.
Jessica sat up in her bed. She sighed and looked at the clock sitting on her nightstand.
She used to get up early all the time, but now she mostly sleeps through her alarms and tends to be late to school most days. As she got up, she stretched her arms and let out a sigh.
Swinging her legs off the bed, she placed her feet on the floor and sat up.
She walked to the bathroom and slowly did her morning routine. Jessica went back to her room and got changed for the day. She grabbed her books and crossbody bag, slipped on her shoes and headed downstairs to get something to eat.
