THE BITE

JESS WAS SQUISHED IN THE BACK SEAT WITH ALEXEI AND MURRAY. As usual, Joyce and Hopper were bickering again on how they wanted to settle this why Murray was trying to explain. Alexei was showing Murray a map and pointing at it.

Jess's next goal to reach in life: be fluent in Russian, so the next time when this happens, it wouldn't be so hard to understand. Which hopefully, there won't be a next time. Although, that's what they thought before.

"What's he saying?" Hopper asked. "He's showing me the location of the key to turn off the machine. Sorry, keys. Two-man rule."

"Two-man rule?" Joyce asked.

"Yeah, two-man rule. Two keys, like a nuclear launch." "But uh, to retrieve the keys you need to open a vault. And to open the vault, you need to enter the Planck's constant." "Planck's What now?" Jess asked him.

"Planck's constant. It's a very famous number."

He explained. "Alright, so, we get the keys, and we turn the machine off," Joyce said. Jess shivered with cold as the wind scratched against her skin. She lost a fair amount of blood from her wounds. "That's what he says," Murray said. "This shouldn't be too hard. We can do this." Of course that came from Joyce.

"Joyce, did you hear the part where he said the place was like an impenetrable fortress?"

"Yeah, but there has to be a way in."

"Yeah, there is. Our military," Murray said

"Who are coming!"

"Well, we don't know that anymore because you yelled at them like it was a parent-teacher conference, and then you hung up on them, so we don't know what the hell is going on, because now we're wait, wait, what are we do- oh! Wait, that's right we're gonna rescue our children from the big bad Fourth of July celebration!" "You know what? If you can't handle this then just turn it around and drop me off!" She yelled. "Same here," Jess said with her crutches right at her feet.

"What are you gonna do? You're gonna walk back to Hawkins with hop along back there?"

"I will do anything if it gets me away from you!"

"Children! Children! Children! This interminable bickering was amusing at first, but it's getting very stale and we got a long drive ahead of us. So, why don't you two cut the horse shit and get to the part where you admit your sexual feelings for one another-" Murray was cut off. "Whoa!" Hopper yelled. "You are way off base, buddy!" Joyce yelled back at him.
