THE SPY

IT WAS A SILENT DRIVE AS STEVE DROVE. Dustin explained to them what happened and how he found Dart. Jess couldn't believe it. She was scared to death if she was being completely honest with herself, and didn't know how they were going to take it down since Dustin didn't let her go back to grab her precious piece that she kept hidden under her bed with a pile of clothes. Yet again, they were endured to fight another fight that they were not prepared for. Jess just hoped that they could kill this thing and get it over with. "Wait, so how big is this thing?" Steve asked.

He wasn't sure if they were joking with him or not. If they were, he was going to be incredibly mad. "First he was like that, now he was like this. Apparently," Jess said, using her hands as measurements. "I swear to god it's just some little lizard, okay." "It's not. I'd like it if it were to be a lizard but unfortunately it's one of those things from the place I was in a few months ago," she huffed, folding her arms.

Jess leaned her head against the window. She had told Steve everything about that night.

From finding the deer, to being in the upside down, and the monster that her, Nancy, and Jonathan killed that he helped with. "How do you know?"

"Are you kidding?"

"How do I know it's not a lizard?" Dustin said from the back. "Yeah, how do you know if it's not just a lizard?!" "Because his face opened up and he ate my cat." Jess could feel her stomach going queasy. She couldn't believe he ate Muse.

She was never a fan of cats. She was never a cat person, but she knew Dustin's mother loved her cat like it was her own child. Which made it even more upsetting.

Steve was quiet for a few seconds, and a minute later they pulled back into Dustin's driveway.

They unloaded the things they needed to kill this thing, and Jess was itching to run back to her place to grab her gun. "Dustin, please let me go get my gun," the girl said, as they walked to the cellar. Steve carried the flashlight.

"No, we don't have time. Steve's bat will do just fine." She narrowed her eyes. "Um, pretty sure a bullet will kill it quicker." "Shhh." Jess and Dustin stood aside while Steve stood in front of the cellar. "I don't hear shit." Jess frowned.

"He's in there." Dustin said. Steve glanced at them, and went to make a noise on the cellar door, and then he did a louder one. "Alright, listen kid. If this is some sort of Halloween prank, you're dead."

"You seriously don't believe us?" Jess asked.

"It's not a prank. Get it out of my face." He mentioned to the flashlight Steve was shining at him.

"You got a key for this thing?"

-

"It must be further down there. I'll stay up here in case it tries to..." Dustin started. "Escape."

Steve looked at him, with not an impressive expression.

"Be careful," Jess smiled a little. Steve looked at her, and let out a sigh. As Steve went in Jess could see the lights from her house a mile away. "I'll be right back." She started to walk.

Dustin caught her arm. "No, Jess. You can't go. Please." "Dustin, I need to grab firearm. We're never going to kill Dart with a bat. Trust me. I'll be back."
