THE WEIRDO ON MAPLE STREET
WHEN JESSICA PULLED INTO THE WHEELERS, SHE WENT DOWN TO THE BASEMENT WHERE THE GIRL AND THREE BOYS WERE FREAKING OUT. As she walked down, she heard the boys talking to her. Jess made her way to the final step and the boys turned around facing her.
"Oh, thank god!" Dustin cried. "We thought you drove in the ditch! What took you so long?!" He ran over to the girl and gave her a hug. Mike sighed, relieved that she was finally there.
"It's raining, and the roads are slippery, ok? Sorry I'm late." She huffed, dropping her bag down on the seat. She saw the girl wearing one of Mike's jackets.
She had short buzzed cut hair and she looked scared.
She looked at the boys before she took a few steps forward, and bent down to her level. "Where's your hair? Do you have cancer?" Dustin asked. "Dustin!" Jessica yelled. "That is so rude," she narrowed her eyes. "Did you run away?" Lucas asked. "Are you in some kind of trouble?" Mike asked. Jessica frowned, looking at the girl who looked back at her. "Is that blood?" Lucas asked, stretching his arm out at her.
"Stop it!" Jessica said, slapping his arm away when she stood back up. It looked like the girl was terrified, and she didn't want to talk.
"You're freaking her out!" Mike yelled. "Well, she's freaking me out!" Lucas yelled back.
Jessica sighed. "Guys!" She yelled, getting their attention. "She's freaking me out!" "I bet she's def," Dustin said suddenly. Jessica glared. "You boys are being rude."
"You're always rude," he said back. "Am not."
She looked at the girl. "Sweetie, is there anyone we can call?" The girl didn't answer. "Hey, you can talk to me, ok? I know these boys are being loud and obnoxious, like always, but they're just trying to help." She didn't say anything.
Dustin clapped his hands to try and get her attention. "Alright, that's enough," Mike said.
"She's scared and cold." He went over to the laundry basket and grabbed a new pair of clothes for the girl. He handed them to her and she didn't know what to do. The girl stood up and started to undress, the boys instantly covered their eyes. "Whoa, who, Whoa, Whoa!"
"Oh," Jessica said, and covered her eyes. "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!" "See? Over there, that's the bathroom. Privacy. Get it?" Mike told her. She went to the bathroom, and Mike was going to shut the door. "So you guys just found her out in the woods, and you don't think we should call the police?" Jess asked Dustin and Lucas. Lucas shook his head. "No. No police." "Well, why not? I mean, this is like.... a missing persons... she might have a family."
"No, we don't know anything about her that's the problem. She doesn't speak to us." Dustin said.
"Yeah, that's why we should call the police," she said obvious. "This is mental," Dustin said.
"At least she can talk," Mike said. "She said no and yes. Your three year old sister says more," Lucas said.
"She tried to get naked. There is something seriously wrong with her," Dustin said. Jessica sighed. "Maybe she's just confused." They all looked at her. "Are you going crazy?" She glared at Dustin. "Maybe she's ill. You know? Maybe she ran away from the hospital."
