Martina missed broadway. she missed Jeremy, Cassie, Nina and Aaron (maybe him a little more). her feet missed running to that little coffee shop hidden between some theaters. her very soul missed the city she grew up in.

"are you good, Aunt May?" Tom was concerned for his aunt, who went from the usual smile she had around Jake (which they still needed to discuss) to a downcast expression.

"just tired I guess." while they had spent a weekend with his family before moving from Venice to Prague, that didn't help in overcoming her homesickness.

"so much that you can't figure out a better excuse?" his facial expression reminded her of that meme, with pursed lips and squinting eyes.

"pretty much that."

Disney had been kind enough to get a private jet to go from one place to the other. Martina was all for being environmentally conscious but just for today she would let it slide, the woman had no patience for anyone. her plans for the short flight were napping and napping.

"I know you are almost a decade older than I am."

"I'm only letting you talk because I'm curious."

"but I am a very good listener." he then got a mess of orange fabric from a backpack. "and I've also brought an extra hoodie."

maybe it was the ever present tiredness that seemed to reach her bones, or just general exhaustion, but May nearly cried at the gesture. Their cast mates were slowly arriving, sitting a little ways from them out of respect.

"frick you." both smiled at her refusal to curse. she sometimes forgot how well Nikki had raised her children, they were all very thoughtful. Tom took to just giving his aunt a hug, hoping it'd help. Although he had a feeling as to what bothered her.

"it gets better."

"what?"

"missing home. after a while, you won't miss it so much. it'll be like having something stuck between your teeth." at her disbelieving face, he elaborated. "overall a bother but nothing you can't get deal with."

she laughed and was better again, not a hundred per cent but enough. soon May let him join his friends and was alone again, not completely with 'Welcome to Night Valley' playing in the background.

"mind if I sit here?" out of the few adults in their cast, Jake and May were the o oh ones needed in Prague right now.

"no." their flight was already halfway though and she hadn't slept a wink, mostly due to having her head against Jake's shoulder. He had a way of making her nervous.

"are you watching a bootleg?" he on the other hand, hadn't meant to pry. but the familiar tunes of Hamilton were hard to ignore.

"no, it's a secret pro shot from when I was an ensemble member." Martina smiled at the memories of that time. "look."

they didn't even notice time pass, just as it always was when they were together, with her pointing out little bits of backstage secrets and he fighting the little jealousy at her stories involving Daveed.

"you miss theater." Jake could certainly understand. there was something special about doing things live, a certain thrill that movies would never have.

"so much. i cried for two days after deciding to leave Anastasia. but my agent promised he would find a new musical for me after this movie is done."

"if only they would revive Catch Me If You Can."

"do you know my friend Aaron was in it?"

no one dared utter a word to them, afraid to mess up what was going on there. it was definitely something, for now just friendship, but who knew what the future may hold.
