"sure thing, honey." Brendon hid his face in Sarah's hair so the woman couldn't see him laugh.
Martina smiled gently, happy to see everyone, so many people whom she had not seen in so long together here.
"happy birthday, aunt May." Tom found his family in a corner of the room.
"thank you. for this party, for letting me into your world." words failed in a moment where so much was felt. "how did you manage to have them all here?"
"it turns out people will go pretty much anywhere for free food."
"and here I was thinking they loved me."
other than her cast mates and New York friends, somehow even Lin was here. he sat in a corner with Cinthia and Philippa apparently discussing the little mermaid. Brendon now laughed as Cassie explained to him and Sarah just how the moon landing was faked. Jake had been talking to Robert when their eyes met.
"hey, can I talk to you for a sec?" for the first time since they'd met, he seemed utterly nervous.
"sure."
the apartment had a balcony that faced mostly towards Manhattan, with a little couch in which they sat. Martina knew exactly what conversation was coming, and she felt excited about it.
"so you know how I have feelings for you right?" awesome way to start. "wait, let me start again. I expected a lot of things when I started working for marvel but meeting you was the best part and I want to keep on doing that even when shooting ends."
"your point being..." the couple sat near each other on purpose, and she really hoped this little speech ended with a kiss.
"being that I have feelings for you. I mean I'm sure I like you and I hope we can figure the rest out together." he placed a hand on her cheek. "because I hate to think about any version of my future that doesn't have you in it."
"God, I really hope you are going to kiss me right now."
