"It was her. She killed Caroline."
I could almost feel the color drain from my face, but just as fast as he said it, Liam walked away. No questions, no nothing. But I couldn't do anything right now. So I ran towards Kristen. As I ran, I tried to think if he was telling the truth. I mean, he could be lying, couldn't he? Or could he not? I didn't even know what to think.
When I reached Kristen I smiled a soft smile. We walked all the way to the office and back, small talking throughout. School, boys, teachers. Just like what I talked about with Caroline. Stop it. Stop it. Do not let her become your best friend. You can't. Caroline holds that title forever. You met this girl a few weeks ago. Do not let her in.
But I couldn't help it. She was so kind and fun. And caring. I felt like she was slowly turning into my new best friend. And for some reason I felt like I couldn't help it. But what about what Liam said? Was it true? Could I trust him? She seems so truthful. Could she be lying? Was this an act? If it was, why? It couldn't be true? Could it?
It felt like I could trust nothing. Nothing was answered. Nothing was real. I had no idea who or what to believe.
