I couldn't take it anymore. I broke down and just cried. I don't know how long I cried for, but it felt good. It would never replace Caroline, but it felt good to let it all out.
10:00am Monday
"So...what's wrong?" Kristen asked, while we were walking to class. It had only been one day, so I still had to walk her.
"What do you mean?" I replied. I couldn't believe she could see straight through my lies. No one else could.
"Something happened. I know it. You are acting strange. You're quiet" Kristen answered. She waited for an answer. I figured she deserved one. Just not now.
"I'll tell you what. You, me, at the Starbucks on 3rd. Right after school. I'll tell you." I told her. She agreed.
Later that day, I saw Liam. I couldn't help but think he had something to do with Caroline's death. He had a dark past and he was her boyfriend. And it took me a while to realize it, but he looked just like the boy running from the crime scene.
