After both of our laughter died down, I drove Liam back home, since he had driven my car over here. I kept stealing glances at him and I noticed he kept looking at his nails.
"You like pink and sparkles?" I asked, nudging him by the shoulder. He smiled and nodded, looking at the pink once again.
Suddenly I saw something run out in front of the car. I didn't hit it, but it got me so freaked out, we had to get out and see what it was. I looked at Liam nervously and he shot me back a reassuring glance. I moved closer to him, afraid of what was 5 feet in front of us at 9:45 at night.
At first, I didn't see anything. The thing must've run off, I thought. Just then, I saw it. About 10 feet in front of us was Kristen. She looked...crazed. Wild. Out of it.
"Kristen!" Liam and I shouted almost in unison. We looked over at each other, with worry in our eyes. I shrugged, unsure of what to and went back to trying to get her attention.
"Hey Kristen! It's Amanda!" I shouted. "And Liam!" Liam added.

"I know who you are!" Kristen yelled back. It felt like we were 50 feet away by the volume of our voices, when really we were pretty close.

"What are you holding?" I asked, a little quieter this time. I knew she could hear me. I noticed her shift the object in her left hand to her right. I squinted, trying to see what it was.
Kristen didn't answer, she just held the object up. For the first time, I saw it clearly.

It was a gun.
