"Mandy?" Liam stirred awake. It looked like he tried to move his arm, but was genuinely surprised when he couldn't.
"Liam, you're awake," I responded. What was left of his arm was all bandaged up. He nodded and layed back down, but left his eyes open.
"What, what happened?" He asked, looking at his 'nub'. I explained to him what Chase had told me about it being paralyzed anyway, and I don't even think he could comprehend the fact that he had no right arm anymore. "But I'm a righty." He complained.
"I know you are, and I'll help you learn to use your other arm." I reasoned. He lifted up his left arm and set it back down.
"This is gonna be hard." Liam stated, and rested his head on my shoulder. I comforted him and we both fell asleep just like that.
-----
The next morning after both Liam and I woke up, I went down to the cafeteria to get us some breakfast. I ran into Anna and stopped to talk for a little bit, and then headed back up to Liam's room. The doctor had told me that he could go home tomorrow, so I delivered the message to Liam while we ate."Guess what?" I questioned after taking a bite of my bagel. Liam's eyes squinted, asking me to continue because he had food in his mouth. "You get to go home tomorrow!" I exclaimed. He practically jumped out of the bed and ran up next to me. I brought him back to the bed, sat down, and hugged him there. "You just need to stay healthy mister." I almost commanded while hugging him.
"Yes ma'am." He played along. I sat down on the bed with him and grabbed my breakfast once more. "Don't you remember when we hated each other?" He asked randomly. I nodded and smiled. The memories of Caroline came back, but this time I didn't get upset about them. I actually liked going through them. "What are you thinking about?" Liam questioned.
"Caroline." I answered. He frowned, disappointed that I was getting sad again. "Not bad ones though. Good ones. Ones that I like remembering." I added. He smiled and we went back to eating our breakfast...again.
"Hey Mandy?" Liam started. "You know I don't really have anyone to go back to. I live by myself. You know, when I leave."
"Really? Well I'm sure you can stay in my house for a while." I suggested.
Liam smiled, showing his teeth. "You're the best."
