CHAPTER 15: I'M SORRY

"A-ah I have to go. Maiiwan ko muna kayo para naman makapag-usap kayong dalawa." paalam ni Audrey. Tumango nalang kami sakanya.
"About Zach?" she started. "I used to call him Zach instead of Yavin." paliwanag niya dahil siguro nakita niya ang kunot kong noo.
"What about him?"
"Do you love him?" she asked, biting her lips.
Nakakaawa ang mukha ni Althea. Ang lungkot at mukhang problemado. Bakit hindi niya nalang kausapin si Yavin at sabihing mahal pa niya ito, edi sila na ulit sana ngayon diba?
"A-ah."I uttered. I tried to sort out the chaos in my head so that I could answer.
"Do you really love him?"
"Do I really need to answer that?" I mumbled, trying to keep my voice normal.
She looked at me with guilt-ridden eyes. "I'm sorry----."
"Hindi ko siya mahal." I said abruptly.
Hindi ko siya kayang makitang gan'to. I mean, may parte saakin na gusto kong sabihin sakanya ang totoo at isa pa hindi ko alam kung bakit ang gaan ng loob ko sakanya.
"What?"
"You heard me right, Althea. I don't love him."
"What are you----?'
"That was just a deal." sabi ko.
Ikinuwento ko sakanya ang lahat ng pinag-usapan namin ni Yavin. As in lahat.
"Really? You two did that just to make me jealous? I can't believe." she demanded in disbelief. "I thought Zach didn't love me anymore. I was wrong."
"When did it started? Hmm the deal?."
"A day before yesterday."
"I see."
"Don't tell him about this, yung sinabi ko sa'yo ang totoo. Please?" I pleaded, making my tone soft and even.
"Ofcourse. I promise cass." she smiled, a glim smile. "I'm really thankful that I've met a person like you. You were such an honest person. I love that." tumayo siya saka niyakap ako.
"My pleasure."
Hindi ko alam kung anong nararamdaman ko ngayon. Parang ang sarap sa pakiramdam ang kayakap siya. Pakiramdam ko ay parte siya sa aking pagkatao.

*Sa bahay(12:28 am)
Anong oras na pero hindi parin ako makatulog. Naalala ko ulit ang sinabi ni Althea kanina bago kami maghiwalay.
"Can you do me a favor?"
"Sure. What is it?"
"Please stay still pretending until he'll comeback to me Cass. Please."
"Okay sure."
