~~~Ian's Point of View~~~
Daemon moved out of the way as I went after Reika. He shouted that he had the bill as I couldn't think about that right now. I wished I could have known what was going through her mind and kicked myself of setting that meeting up in the first place. What had I been thinking?
Outside the restaurant, I lost sight of her. Closing my eyes, I inhaled and found her scent easily. Jogging in that direction, I followed it right to parking garage behind the restaurant. It didn't take me long to find her car where she sat with her forehead against the stirring wheel.
I knelt beside her car, I tapped on the window. She yelped and I frowned as she looked at me startled and tears down her face. That gutted me as I didn't ever want to hurt her. Had this hurt her?
Moving out of the way, she got out of her car. She wasn't running and that made me happy. My hands going to either side of her face and thumbing her tears away. Her arms wrapped around her chest.
One of her hands moved away from her chest and to the back of my head. She pulled me to her and I went willingly. She was to tell me how quickly or slowly we will be together. Her head tilting as she brought me down for a kiss. My hands moving, my right to the back of her head, and my left to rest between her shoulder blades.
The kiss was salty from her tears, but so soulfully sweet. Her spicy sage scent wrapped around me. The kiss tingling. Was this what it felt like to feel her magic? Everything about her was making me want to stay with her forever.
She pulled back and I opened my eyes looking down at her. But her eyes didn't come up to mine. Her breath was soft but with a pained sound to it. She was in pain that I didn't understand yet.
"Please don't do that again." Her words were thick with emotion.
I felt uncomfortable. "Sorry." I shifted slightly to the right. "I'm not any good at this." She looked up at me and I gave her a small tortured smile. My hand still threaded in her soft hair. "This is all new to me." Shaking my head tightly. "I thought I would be alone for the rest of my life."
"I.." She dropped her arms from around me. "I should go..."
Letting my arms fall to my sides, I stepped away from her. Though I could smell her arousal, I was going to honor her in letting her go for now. She was more important so she was comfortable with being with me.
She opened the door of her car and slipped in. Before she could close the door, I placed my hand on the frame curling my fingers around it so she couldn't close the door just yet. I pulled out one of my business cards from one of the inside pockets of my vest and held it out to her. "Call me if you need anything, even if it is just to talk."
"What if you're busy?" She timidly took the card which made my heart swell. She was accepting me in one small way.
Opening the door a little more. "If I'm working, I'll still pick up for you." I leaned in and gave her a soft brief kiss. "Always remember, mates trump everything for us wolves."
Stepping away from her car, I closed the door for her. I watched as she sighed and placed my card in her purse before pulling her seatbelt to lock it in place. I could tell that she did it out of habit and I loved that habit of hers. She was safe as she drove.
Moving out of the way, I stood steadfast as she reversed and then drove out of the parking lot. My eyes taking in the sticker on her bumper that I hadn't seen the last time. I had been concentrating solely on her license plate before. Now I smiled at the celtic crescent moon with the points that pointed to the sky.
Reika. Her name was so beautiful and strong like she is. Now to just help her be comfortable with be with me and find how to make all this work.
