school the following day was what one might say, interesting.

zach walked into the building and up to his friends. he wore the usual smirk on his lips. jack was there though and he didn't like that.

"how is my favorite old person?" sadie winked at her best friend.

"he's doing good. tired and hungry but good." zach's eyes wandered down to jack and sadie's intertwined fingers. zach's smile fell for a millisecond before he composed himself. he had no idea why it bothered him so much.

"he's only a grade above you sadie." jack furrowed his eyebrows.

"that's what you think." zach sent a wink to the boy. he turned to daniel and sadie, completely ignoring jack now. "i'll see you guys at lunch."

zach started to walk away by himself but was soon joined by daniel. daniel stopped the boy from walking. "sadie told me what happened. she asked me to talk to you about it. are you okay? she said you cried which is so unexplainably abnormal for you. she also said that you attacked jack again. what is it about him that makes you so angry?"

"i don't know. you know that feeling you get when your nervous? like the butterflies. or the one you get when you're waiting for something to happen? i have that. it's like a weird pulling feeling in my stomach. i don't know what it is but it won't go away. i thought it was maybe because i was hungry but i ate on friday and it was still there. i don't know what happened or why i feel this way but i need it to stop. i also just feel the need to punch him in the face whenever i'm around him. i don't know why either. i'm not a violent person at all so this is so weird and i hate it." zach rambled. daniel's eyes widened, not expecting zach to reveal so much especially to him. zach was a very closed off and reserved person.

"okay. wow. maybe ask jonah. he might know what's going on. just try not to punch jack anymore especially now that he's dating your best friend." daniel's voice was stern.

"that makes me want to punch him even more." zach whined.

daniel rolled his eyes. "whatever. i'll see you at lunch."

"okay."

zach walked to class and sat in his normal seat. jack came in a few minutes later and sat across from him. zach had his arms crossed over his chest and a blank look on his face.

jack looked at him and raised an eyebrow. zach clenched his jaw and looked away from him. jack's eyes lingered on him before hastily looking away.

zach tried his hardest to keep his eyes off of jack. he just couldn't seem to stop his gaze from floating in that direction though.

seventh hour rolled around again and zach didn't want to go. he wanted to go home but sadie would kill him if he didn't show up. zach walked into the room and that unexplainable need to punch jack avery in the face took over. zach just ignored it as he sat down next to daniel.

"i should just drop out." zach exclaimed, dropping his head onto the table. then he mumbled, "i've done it before."

"dude shut up someone might hear you." daniel nudged zach's side. jack looked at them weird before looking away.
