"so i've been thinking." jack sat up on the couch.

"that's never good." zach chuckled and looked up at jack.

the two were once again in the tree house. they went there everyday after jack had hockey practice. sometimes they wouldn't be able to when zach had a meeting or if jonah needed him.

"hey stop that." jack pouted and leaned over zach.

"okay sorry. what did you need?" zach set a hand on the back of jack's neck.

"what are we? like i know we never put a label on it or anything but i figured you wouldn't like that so i never brought it up. i don't even know why i'm bringing it up right now." jack sighed and rested his head back on zach's chest. zach resumed running his fingers through jack's hair.

"i haven't even thought about it. at first i was wary about putting a label on it because i wasn't sure of where it was going but now i know that since we're basically meant to be that it doesn't really matter what we label ourselves. especially if we're going to keep us a secret." zach sighed and looked up at the ceiling. there was no doubt in zach's mind that he wanted to be with jack.

"could we put a label on it? we don't have to if you don't want to." jack paused and see his hand on zach's stomach. "i just want to call you mine."

"that's cute." zach leaned down and kissed the top of jack's head. "if you're trying to ask me out then just do it."

"i will. i want it to be special so it's going to have to wait." jack sat up and stretched. "are you going on the science field trip this weekend?"

"yeah. sadie and daniel both made me sign up for it." zach sat up next to jack. he turned to look at jack's who seemed to be deep in thought. zach set a hand on jack's cheek and turned his head to face him. "what's wrong?"

"this is probably going to sound stupid and you're probably going to laugh at me but have you ever had anything going on with daniel?" jack looked down at his lap and played with his fingers.

"are you jealous kitten?" zach raised an eyebrow at the boy.

"a little and don't call me that." jack huffed. "i'm allergic to cats. all werewolves are."

zach smiled and pressed a kiss to jack's shoulder. "nothing has every happened between daniel and i. well actually that's a lie. we've kissed a few times and we both had our first time together but nothing romantic. we've never had a thing for one another. i've never really liked anyone until you and daniel's had the biggest crush on jonah since he turned him. you have nothing to worry about."

"okay good. you guys act kinda coupley sometimes." jack sighed and glanced at zach. "sorry for being weird."

"it's fine. a lot of people say that." zach shrugged. "we're just really close. we always have been."

"okay. i trust you." jack laid his head on zach's shoulder. "i should probably get home. my parents don't like how late i've been staying out recently."

"oh." zach checked the time on his phone. "yeah it's almost ten. you should go home and get some rest. it's probably getting cold isn't it?"

"yeah a little. i can bring a heater and stuff for when it gets chillier at night. and blankets. i know you don't get cold but i like being here with you. it's relaxing. especially after practice." jack slowly stood up and put his shoes on. "i'll see you tomorrow. are you coming to the game?"
