"what?" the older girl walked into the room.

"why the hell did you attack my friend?" jack dropped his backpack to the ground. he was so far beyond angry. he was the only one that knew why though.

"i didn't do that!" sydnie glared at him.

"yes you fucking did! i saw the wounds. stop acting like you didn't do anything." jack walked closer to her. he clenched his fists so he didn't punch her in the face.

"i don't even know who you're talking about!"

"you're such a fucking liar!" jack was this close to swinging at his sister.

"what the hell is going on in here?" their mom walked down the stairs and into the living room.

"sydnie attacked zach. one of the high vampires. he almost died." jack turned to his mom the look in his eyes told her everything she needed to know. she nodded her head.

"sydnie is that true?" she turned to her daughter.

"of course not!" sydnie's eye twitched.

"you're lying. go tell your father what you've done and then go to your room." she pointed to the stairs.

sydnie didn't say anything she just growled and ran up the stairs. their mother turned to jack.

"is he okay? how bad was it?" his mother was concerned. she walked closer to jack.

"he's okay now. he was in pretty bad shape this morning though. zach said that both daniel and jonah took pictures of it. it was bad mama." jack's hands started shaking as he remembered what it felt like when zach got hurt and when he saw it. he felt ashamed of himself as if he should have been there to protect him.

"is he fully healed now?" she questioned and crossed her arms over her chest.

jack blushed remembering what happened. "yeah. he's okay now."

"so your mate is a vampire huh?" she smirked when his blush deepened.

"what? no. there's no way." jack's voice raised a few octaves.

"yeah okay. you kissed him and that's why he healed so quick." she smiled knowing she was correct. "physical touch from your mate helps you heal."

"yeah."

"don't you have a girlfriend though? what about her?" she asked.

"yeah. i'm going to break up with her. i thought it was her but it wasn't. i just feel bad. you know how sometimes you just black out and the wolf takes over?" he waited for her to nod before he continued. "it's been happening a lot to me recently and idk what to do."

"does he know?"

jack looked down and shook his head. "no. i don't know how to tell him."

"it's okay sweetheart. you don't have to rush into anything." she set a hand on his shoulder. "now i should probably get into contact with jonah so we can work this out."

jack nodded. "okay. i'll be upstairs."

jack ran upstairs and to his room. he shut the door but not before someone shoved him inside and locked the door behind themselves. jack stumbled and dropped his backpack.

"what the hell?" jack turned around to see sydnie standing there. she marched up to him and he took a few steps back. "what are you doing? you're on lockdown."
