"dani you'll be fine. it's just jonah." zach stood outside of his car and next to the passenger door. daniel was refusing to get out of the car.

daniel scoffed. "just jonah. yeah okay. you're acting as if i don't have a massive crush on him."

daniel's eyes widened when he realized he actually admitted that out loud knowing jonah could probably hear him. zach stifled a laugh as jonah stepped outside onto the porch, a blush covering his face and neck. daniel groaned and slammed his forehead into the dashboard.

"come on dani. we have to do this since you refuse to compel your mom." zach opened the door and reached over to unclip daniel's seatbelt. zach pulled daniels arm before groaning and yanking it.

"okay! fuckin hell you bitch." daniel popped his arm back into place and got out of the car. "i'll stake you bitch."

"yeah okay." zach rolled his eyes and walked up the steps. daniel followed behind. zach smiled at jonah. "hey jo."

"zachary you know how i feel about nicknames." jonah raised an eyebrow at the boy.

"yeah yeah. sorry. i'll be inside." zach walked past him and into the home.

"hi." daniel kept his head down. he couldn't look jonah in the face.

"hey." jonah pulled daniel into a hug. "you okay?"

"yeah i'm just stressed." daniel set his head on jonah's chest.

"about your mom?" jonah gently rubbed his hand up and down daniel's back.

"yeah. i don't know what to do." daniel shrugged.

"i'll help. okay? let's go teach you how to do this thing."

daniel nodded and pulled back. he looked up at jonah's face and he immediately regretted it. he glanced down at jonah's lips before pulling away from the boy fully.

daniel made his way inside and shoved a smirking zach. zach glared at the boy and they made their way into the kitchen, jonah following.

"okay. you sit up here." jonah tapped the island counter. daniel easily hopped up and looked between the two boys. jonah smiled at him. "okay now you just have to concentrate enough to slow your heart rate down enough for normal people to hear. our hearts are beating by they're beating so fast that you can't hear it."

daniel nodded. he closed his eyes. he took a deep breath.

"there you go." jonah encouraged. jonah leaned on the counter next to daniel. jonah listened to his heart to make sure he was doing it correctly.

zach looked between the two with a raised eyebrow before quietly leaving the room. he walked outside and sat on the steps of the porch. he looked across the street to see a girl standing there. she had her arms crossed and a glare on her face. her eyes flashed a bright blue and nodded her head to behind her. zach furrowed his brows and stood up. he walked into the small patch of trees that the girl walked into.

inside the house things we what someone would say escalated.

"did you mean what you said outside?"

daniel froze. jonah's back was to him. daniel was still sitting on the counter. they were trying to figure out how long he could keep his heartbeat slow.

"your heart is speeding up again." jonah looked over his shoulder at daniel.

"it's your fault! why would you ask me something like that?" daniel grabbed his phone and went to go jump off the counter. jonah was standing in between his legs before he could even think about moving. jonah set his hands on either side of daniel's legs.
