the next day they all went home. zach left a bit before jack since he had a meeting with the council.

zach pulled into his driveway and went inside. everyone was already there so zach just sat at his respective seat.

zach zoned out as jonah was speaking. he wasn't even sure of what the man was talking about.

he just felt a bad feeling in his gut. he was nervous for something but he didn't even know what.

it wasn't until his phone started ringing that he was pulled out of his thoughts. zach quickly stood up and answered it.

"sadie is right now really a good time?" zach walked into the kitchen. he frowned when he heard her sniffling. "sadie what's wrong?"

her voice was shaky as she started crying again. "zach he's going to kill me. he said if you don't come find me then he's going to kill me."

"who? sadie who?" zach became worried as jonah walked into the room.

"i- don't- i don't know. he won't tell me." the girl let out a sob. "please zach."

"where are you? sade where are you?" zach's hands were shaking.

"i'm in the woods. i'm by the lake. it's- it's a house i think. or a cabin." she kept her voice down.

zach froze as he was immediately brought back to his least favorite time. zach shook his head and swallowed. "i'll be there soon sadie. you'll be okay."

he was walking out of his house when he felt a blow to the stomach. zach gasped and hunched over as it happened again. he gripped the phone as he heard a growl and howl over the phone. the sound made his fangs come out and his eyes flash a bright red.

"oh my gosh. jack's here. they have jack." sadie whimpered.

zach clenched his jaw and pushed away the pain as he stood to his feet and stood off. he wasn't even aware of someone following him. he entered the woods and looked around. he heard that howl again and took off into that direction.

he stopped when he got to that small cabin by the lake. zach could hear sadie inside crying and jack crying out in pain.

zach paused and pushed the memories away.

"zachary i know you're here. just come out and face me again. i know you tried to kill me but you couldn't. i was already in transition. i've got your friend and your little wolf boyfriend." zach saw a guy walk out and he was all too familiar. zach froze in his spot as tears formed in his eyes. the memories once again came flooding back and he hated it. the guy clicked his fingers and two more walked out, one holding jack and one holding sadie. sadie had her arms bound behind her back with rope and jack had his hands in handcuffs.

"why?" zach choked out as he felt his throat constricting. he didn't know what to do. he looked between both of his friends. sadie was crying not because she was hurt but because she was scared. jack was crying because he was hurt. the silver handcuffs around his wrists were burning. jack was looking at him with pleading eyes but then again so was sadie. zach didn't know what to do. he couldn't pick between the two.

"because you pissed me off and killed james." chris nodded his head at the guy holding jack. he lifted jack up and stabbed him in the stomach. he dropped him and jack fell to the floor. jack cried out as tears formed in his eyes. zach groaned as he gripped his stomach. zach pulled himself back up and now he was angry. jack was just laying there bleeding out in the dirt. zach went to step closer when someone set a hand on his shoulder, pulling him back. zach looked back to see jonah, daniel, corbyn, and annie? zach gave them a confused look before she flashed her golden eyes. zach just shrugged. he should have guessed.
