i'm back. also i just realized that this book is almost over. i have the last few chapters mostly planned out. 💛

jonah felt bad about interrogating zach after what happened with jack so he waited a few days.

that's currently what was happening.

"so his name was jeremy and he said he was a vampire?" jonah sat in a chair across from zach, the rest of the clan behind him.

zach nodded. "he was lying though. i could head his heartbeat and it was normal. i think he was told to do it by someone. i couldn't see his face but i remember his voice. he sounded young but not like a kid. he was at least a teenager."

jonah nodded as he took this information in. "okay. i'm going to look into it. you can leave now."

zach nodded and quickly hurried out of there. he was already late to meet jack. he ran all the way there where jack was waiting inside, doing homework.

zach jumped up and walked inside. he set his bag down and looked at jack. "whatcha doin?"

"research."

zach raised an eyebrow and sat next to jack on the couch. "on what?"

zach leaned his head on jack's shoulder and tried to look at the computer screen. jack quickly moved it from his sight. "nothing."

zach sighed and leaned back. "okay."

jack had become a little distant since the whole imprint and death talk. zach understood though but he just wished jack would talk to him. it bothered zach too but he tried to push it away for jack.

zach hated the thought of losing jack. the thought just chokes him up. he guarantees that he would go insane if jack ever died.

jack put his stuff away and laid his head in zach's lap. jack curled up into himself. zach weaved his fingers through jack's hair and scratched the boys head. jack hummed in appreciation and wrapped his arms around one of zach's legs.

"i love you kitten. you know that right?" zach whispered. "no matter what happens now or in the future, i love you."

jack swallowed and squeezed his eyes shut. he buried his face in zach's thigh as tears came to his eyes and he hated it. jack nodded though. "i love you too. more than what i'm sure is healthy. you're my world hotshot."

zach took in a shaky breath and looked up at the ceiling. "what are we supposed to do jack? i'm literally older than your grandma. jack i- dude i can't lose you."

jack grabbed both of zach's hands with his own and pressed light kisses to them. "you won't love. you won't lose me."

when monday came around and they had to go back to school, zach was testy. he didn't want to talk to anyone or have anyone talk to him. he was pissed the fuck off for no reason.

zach walked up the stairs and into the school. he pulled the door open and walked over to where daniel, corbyn, and jack were waiting for him.

"what's got your panties in a twist?" corbyn looked zach up and down.

zach just glared at him and rolled his eyes. "i'll see y'all later."

zach pushed passed them and down the hallway. he knew that at least one of them were following him and he was annoyed. he turned around causing all three of them to look like deer caught in headlights.
