"there you are zachary. i thought you burned up or something. jeez." jonah opened he door for zach. zach looked into the backseat and saw josh there. jonah pulled out of the school parking lot, driving down the road. "joshua here was starting to get on my last nerve."

"dude i was just playing shakira." josh leaned between the two front seats and turned to zach. "why do you still go to school anymore? like didn't you graduate college already?"

"i like the experience. i'm gonna look seventeen forever i might as well utilize it." zach shrugged and pulled his phone out. he unlocked it and texted sadie that he wouldn't be at her house today to work on the project. she replied saying that jack wasn't going to be there either so they would just work on it tomorrow.

"so we're just meeting with the alpha, his wife, and his three oldest kids. the youngest one hasn't gone through her change yet so she won't be there. i know i don't have to tell either of you but be civil." jonah explained as they drove through the woods.

both boys nodded. zach looked back down at his phone. he was kinda nervous. he's never met a werewolf before, he's met other supernatural creatures but never a werewolf.

"and we're here." jonah stopped the car and turned it off. zach looked up and his eyes widened. his breath hitched and jonah noticed. "zachary? are you okay?"

zach swallows thickly and nodded. he got out of the car and followed jonah up the driveway. he kept his head and only looked up when jonah stopped walking.

"i'm jonah frantzich and these are my partners zachary herron and joshua sanders." jonah stepped forward and shook hands with the alpha.

"this is my wife kristin. then these are my kids sydnie, jack, and ava." he gestured down the line. "thank you for agreeing to this meeting. let's head inside if you will. i do have other people in my pack. most of them should be upstairs except corbyn who will be joining us later. he's in school."

jonah nodded and followed the man inside. they all sat at a large table opposite to each other. zach finally looked at jack who was looking right at him. he knew jack had seen the love bite he left him from the sweatshirt he was sporting, hood up and everything.

they talked for almost three hours. it was mostly jonah and the alpha with his wife. corbyn showed up eventually and was definitely surprised when he saw zach there.

zach looked down and licked his lips. he needed to get out of there as soon as possible. he was anxious and everyone in the room knew it. everyone in the large home probably knew it.

he couldn't help it! jack was staring at him the whole time.

when it was time to leave zach shook hands with everyone. jack squeezed his hand and zach knew if his heart was beating it would have stopped zach practically bolted out of the house and to the car. he tried to open it but jonah had locked it. zach groaned and leaned against the spotless car.

a hand touched his shoulder and zach grabbed it and whipped around. it was jack. of course it was jack. zach groaned. "stop doing that."

"we need to talk like right now." jack kept a blank expression.

zach nodded. jack pulled him away from the group. they walked for a solid eight minutes before they stopped.

zach opened his mouth to speak but jack beat him to it.

"what the hell zach!" jack was angry.

"i'm sorry." zach looked down at the ground. he knew he was supposed to hate jack but he didn't. he couldn't and that terrified him beyond belief.
