Rejected (BxB)

Chapter 5

-Kayden's P.O.V.-

It was hopeless. How the hell did we get ourselves into this situation?

''Oh I don't know... You maybe kicked the life out of my mate?'' Jay growled at me. I sighed and rested my head on the couch.

It was really silent. I could only hear Zack's small sobs and muffled voices from upstairs. Closing my eyes, I remembered what my mom always told me about mates...

''Mommy, I don't get it. Can you explain it again?'' I said, making my best puppy eyes. Mom chuckled and petted my head. ''I can't say no to those, can I?''

I nodded and smiled. My mom cleared her throat and started. ''A long, long time ago, werewolves were free to choose who to be with. Of course that the cause of it was a lot of brokenhearted wolves. Hearts were broken easily because they weren't loyal to each other.''

''What does that mean mommy?'' I asked her with furrowed eyebrows. She smiled. ''That means if two wolves are together and one of them is with another wolf in the same time, they are not loyal. They are fake-loving them.''

''That's so wrong mommy!'' I squeaked out and she giggled. ''Not done yet baby. So, with more hearts broken, packs were growing weaker and weaker every day. A lot of them even eventually killed themselves too. But when The Moon Goddess saw what's going on, she was mad. She decided to give every wolf another one that completes them. They are perfect for each other. But she still gave us a choice. We can reject our mate if we think they don't deserve our love or if we simply don't like them. This however, breaks their heart really really bad. You can even die from the force of it.''

I cringed and whimpered. She nodded. ''Sweetie, its not important who your mate is. Boy or girl, you have to love them. On day, when you get your mate, please don't reject them, okay?''

I nodded and furrowed my eyebrows. ''I'd never do that mommy, I promise you! I'll love them, whoever they are!'' She laughed and hugged me. ''Good thing baby, because it would break my heart.''

''Mommy, but if someone rejected their mate, how would they get them back if they realized they loved them after all?'' I asked her.

''They would have to beg for their forgiveness, baby, and hope their mate still loves them in their heart.'' she smiled and kissed my forehead. ''Now who's up for pancakes!?''

Loud steps interrupted my thoughts. My head perked up to see our parents coming down the stairs.

Zack sat up and looked at them too. I saw his puffy face from the corner of my eye. Then I focused on our parents. My dad still looked furious, but calmed down a little when Beta Miller patted his shoulder. He himself looked confused and sad. Mrs. Miller sobbed, tears still streaming down her face. My mom looked dazed and misarable. She was obviously thinking about the same thing that crossed my mind earlier.

''Boys stand up.'' my dad said. We scrambled off of the couch and in front of them. My mom didn't even glanced at me while going around us and sitting with Mrs. Miller on the couch.

''So for your punishment.'' my dad said and my head snapped up. Zack and I exchanged worried glances.

''You two will give me names of every single person that bullied Shawn for the past five years, and don't even try to lie because I know you know all of them.'' he said and I furrowed my eyebrows. ''That's it?'' I asked cautiously.

He glared at me. ''I wasn't finished! Your punishment is to not touch, speak or even look at Shawn ever again.''

Our jaws dropped. ''What?! How the hell are we going to apologize then?!'' I yelled.

Dad growled at me. ''You don't even deserve to beg for his forgiveness.''

Zack's breathing became shallow. His whole body trembled and then he snapped. ''NO!!!'' he screamed and pushed through our dads, trying to go upstairs. Beta Miller barely grabbed him. He held his arms while Zack squirmed like like crazy. ''LET ME GO!!! I NEED TO SEE MY BROTHER!!!'' he screamed and trashed in his dad's grip.

''Zack, stop right now!'' my dad demanded in his Alpha voice. Zack instantly stopped trashing. No one could disobey an Alpha's voice. Zack sobbed, his head hanging down. ''Please. Let me see my brother.'' he sobbed out. That was one of the only times I heard him actually referring to Shawn as his brother.

Beta Miller snarled. ''You lost the right to call him your brother.'' he said and let go of him. Zack stumbled forwards, loosing balance and falling to the floor. He curled in a ball, his head between his knees.

I looked back up to my dad who was glaring at me. ''I still can't believe you would do that Kayden. To your own mate?!''

A tear slid down my face.

''What did he ever do to you?'' a small voice said. I turned around to see my mom glaring daggers at me.

''Mom I-'' she shook her head and scoffed. ''What did he do to you?! Did he ever hate on you or Zack?! The boy never even tried to protect himself in any way! No wonder it literally broke his heart in the end! He doesn't deserve to be rejected...but you do Kayden. You truly do.'' she whispered out the last part.

My eyes widened. My mom never spoke to me like that. She had to be really upset. More stomps was heard and we all looked towards the stairs.

The black haired girl showed up.

''He's awake.'' she said.

''Where are Alex and Liliana?'' Beta Miller asked.

''Shawn wanted them to stay with him.'' the girl I now knew was Ashley said and Beta Miller nodded his head.

and went back up. Mrs. Miller whipped up and run up the stairs. My mom and Beta Miller went right after her. My dad still stood in front of us. ''Don't you even try to go upstairs. I want you both out of the house, right now! Go clear your heads or something.'' he said and then went upstairs.

I got on my knees to pull Zack up. He was still shaking. I hugged him and he sobbed in my shoulder.  Then we got up and walked towards the door.

''But really.'' Jay asked with a heavy note of hatred in his voice. ''What did he do to you?''
