Chapter 9

Yeah... SORRY!!!!!!!! Luv ya all!

After making the bed like he did every other morning, Shawn gripped the handle of his suitcase. After packing his every single belonging, the room looked the same. You could only see the difference if looking closly.

Shawn sighed and placed the neatly folded piece of paper on his pillow.

After years of wishing he could escape, he was still sad to leave his room. Yes, he was beaten to a pulp even here, but it always was his place. He could lock himself up and enjoy the comforting smell of lavender that his room had.

The silence was broken by quiet footsteps and murmur of little wheels that were attached to Shawn's suitcase. Shawn exited his room. He raked his eyes around his room for the very last time. Then he closed the door.

Shawn carried his case down the stairs and into the livingroom where his parents and Alex were standing.

''Got everything?'' his mom asked and smiled a little. She was trying to hold her tears in. She knew very well that Shawn was the safest with her parents, but she was still going to miss him so very much.

Shawn nodded and then threw himself at his mother. She hugged him back and a few sobs escaped her lips. She smiled into Shawn's neck, ignoring the tears that were flowing down her face.

When they finally parted Shawn frowned when he saw the crying face of his mother. ''Mom.'' he said quietly. ''I can stay here, I-'' but she shook her head with a little laugh. ''Don't you dare.'' she said and then tiptoed to kiss her pup's cheek.

''Go and be happy baby. But call me when you get there! And every day too!'' she demanded. Shawn giggled and nodded. Then he turned to Alex who pulled him into a tight hug.

''I'm gonna miss you lil' bro.'' he whispered. Shawn nodded. ''I'm gonna miss you more.'' Alex pulled away and snickered. ''Yeah right.''

Shawn rolled his eyes fondly at his brother.

''And say hi to grandma and grandpa for me will you?'' Alex asked and ruffled Shawn's hair. Shawn nodded.

''Lets get going then. We don't want you to miss your flight.'' Beta Mark said and took the suitcase from Shawn. He walked towards the door and his family followed.

He put the suitcase in the trunk of their car which they didn't use very often due to being faster then it. Shawn let out a breath and then, for the last time, he turned to his mother and older brother.

''I'm going to miss you so much.'' he said and they both nodded. Than Shawn opened the passenger door and sat down. He buckled himself and closed the door. He rolled the window down. His mother and Alex came by.

''I'm serious about those calls, okay?'' his mother joked, but you could clearly see that it wasn't a real joke. Shawn smiled. ''I promise I'll call you.''

Beta Miller sat beside him and turned the car on.

Shawn remembered something else. ''Please tell everything to Liliana and Ashley. I know they won't say anything to anyone.'' he pleaded and Alex nodded.

''Thank you.'' Shawn said. Then they were off.

Mrs. Miller broke down the instant they couldn't see the car anymore. Alex held his mother and led her back into the house. Two things were on his mind. One: he was going to miss Shawn like crazy, and two: how the hell were they going to tell Zack and Kayden?

''I'm sorry Shawn.''

Shawn's head whipped up to those words. ''What for?'' he asked.

Beta Miller sighed. ''For not helping. For not being there. For not even notcicing.''

''Dad it's fine. Its over now.'' Shawn smiled lightly.

Beta Miller shook his head. ''It's never going to be fine Shawn. You're just too forgiving.''

Shawn nodded while looking at the floor. He indeed was. He should me angry with his parents. With the Alpha couple. With Alex. But he just wasn't.

He was instead grateful.

He was grateful that Alex comforted him in his moments of complete weakness, when he didn't know what had happened but didn't ask. He was just there for him when needed.

He was grateful that his dad often took Zack to random trips because even without noticing, he felt something was wrong between Zack and him.

He was grateful that his mom wasn't disgusted with his whole being after so many years, and that she had bought him a plane ticket to happiness, even if that meant she had to let him go.

He was grateful for Liliana and Ashley who had stayed with him when he was broken and alone.

He felt guilty for leaving them.

Beta Miller probably guessed it because he sighed and placed a hand on his younger pup's shoulder. ''Shawn, don't you dare feel guilty for leaving us. We all know that you belong there. You always did. I saw how open you were there. But I chose to believe that you were way too young to live there. That it was too far away from us. I feel way worse than back then. So go, and be happy with your grandparents and your friends. I bet you miss Yara too.''

Shawn smiled. He really did. Yara was a wolf cub he found in deep forest beside the city. He found her while running and exploring when he was eleven. She was injured and alone. So he took her home. His grandma, being good with medicines, healed her. Shawn only had to ask once for them to keep her. The Alpha didn't mind and Shawn had a new friend. He and his friends played with her every day. Until they left. Shawn had promised, while crying, that he'll come back, and Yara being a wolf that understood human language howled and nodded her little head.

''Yes, I will. And yes I do. Thank you dad.'' Shawn said and hugged his father. Beta Miller hugged back and smiled.

''Fight A3 boarding now.''  a lady's voice could be heard over the microphone. Shawn parted from his dad and gripped his suitcase's handle. He smiled to him. ''I'll call when I land. Call over Skype anytime you want.''

Beta Miller nodded and then hugged him a quick goodbye hug.

''I'll see you dad.'' Shawn said. Then he turned around and walked away from him. He gave his ticket to a smiling lady. She confirmed it. ''Have a nice flight dear.'' she said and he smiled at her.
''Thank you.''

Shawn had a second class ticket. It wasn't that full, but there was people. Mostly werewolves but a handful of humans too. Shawn sat in his seat and relaxed. This was it. He was free. And nothing could stop him now.

Then the same lady's voice was heard inside of the plane.

''Welcome everybody! Relax and enjoy the flight. The flight is long so feel free to sleep. We will be landing in about 13 hours in Busan, South Korea.''
