Chapter 25

A loud bang on the door woke Kayden up from his quite peaceful slumber. He groaned and pushed his under his pillow, his face squishing into the mattress.

''Kay?'' came a muffled voice from the outside. ''Are you going to sleep through the entire day? Get up! Or do you want to skip seeing Shawn?''

Kayden was on his legs in an instant. He was in front of the door in a second, opening them in a forceful manner. Zack, who was leaning onto it, yelped and fell forward, stumbling into Kayden's room. Kayden didn't even see him, he just skipped down the hall and down the stair.

Zack huffed. ''Great best friend my ass.'' he mumbled and got up from the floor. When he arrived downstairs Kayden was already at the front door bouncing in his spot like he needed the bathroom.

''How'd you eat so fast?'' Zack asked with a raised eyebrow. Kayden just shrugged. ''Can you hurry up?''

Zack rolled his eyes and sat down on the couch. ''Gee Kay we have the entire day.''

After huffing, Kayden glared holes through Zack's head. ''Yeah right. You're just nervous.''

''Of course I'm fucking nervous Kay. I can barely sit straight. Doesn't mean I don not want to enjoy my breakfast!'' Zack exclaimed dramatically and picked up an apple. Kayden just groaned and sat down next to him.

It was quiet otherwise than Zack's munching. Suddenly Mrs. Miller came in through one of the doors and smiled. ''Good morning boys! Did you sleep well?''

''Better than ever mom.'' Zack grinned. Mrs. Miller nodded happily. ''Glad to hear it. You going over to the Alpha's now?''

Kayden jumped from the couch and nodded. ''Yup! Right now. Zack, come on already!''

''Good. I'll come in a few minutes, I have to visit some of my old friends.'' the girl said, waved, and left the house, leaving the door opened.

Kayden turned around to see Zack taking a bite of his second apple. He huffed and pulled him up, dragging him out of the house.

''Hey wha- Kayden, I'm not done yet!'' Zack yelled, struggling to get out from Kayden's grip. Kayden turned to him and grabbed the apple, throwing it into the garden. Zack's eyes followed it in misery.

''You'll eat later, Zack. We have the entire day.'' Kayden mocked. Zack furrowed his eyebrows but shrugged it off. ''Fine fine. Just let me go will you?''

Kayden let go of his hand and walked on. Zack turned back sneakily to take back his apple, but to his surprise, Yara had it in his mouth. The wolf glared at him, and backed up deeper into the garden. Zack sighed and walked after Kayden.

Kayden was already at the front door of the Alpha house when Zack caught up.

''Scared to knock?'' Zack grinned. Kayden glared at him. ''Not at all, I was just waiting for you.'' he answered and turned back to the door.

Zack snickered. ''Sure. What are you waiting for now?''

''For you to shut up.'' Kayden snapped and brought his hand up to knock. Zack rolled his eyes. Kayden took in a deep breath, and knocked. It was silent for a little while, but then they heard a small laugh and someone shuffling towards them.

The door opened.

Kayden was confused. No one was there. But he heard a cough, and he looked down. A short boy with intensely blond hair was smiling at them, his eyes turning into crescents. He looked totally angel like, and very cute if you asked Kayden or Zack.
