Chapter 26

Recap:

''Why do you smell like him?'' Kayden asked quietly. Jihyuk's head whipped towards him. ''Excuse me?'' he said with a certain smugness.

''Why do you smell like Shawn?!'' Kayden growled. Jihyuk only smirked. ''I have every right to smell like Shawn, thank you very much.''

''That doesn't answer my question!'' Kayden snapped. Zack just sat there, quiet.

''Why would I answer any of your goddamn questions in my own house, you bad excuse for an Alpha!'' Jihyuk snapped back at him. Now, Kayden was a strong Alpha, but in that moment, Jihyuk was way stronger then him.

''Just answer the question you stupid--!'' Kayden started but he was interrupted when a small, scared and very shocked voice came from the stairs.

''Kayden?''

Kayden's eyes widened. He took in a shaky breath and looked over Jihyuk's head. The sight made him gulp.

Shawn's figure seemed even smaller than the last time he's seen it. His face was, however, still hidden by a hood, this time a baby blue one. It was too big on him so it gave him sweater paws that were now limply dangling beside him.

Shawn himself was petrified. He stayed glued to the stair he was standing on, shaking.

Jihyuk felt Shawn's fear like it was his own, and turned to him with a gentle smile. ''Shawn, baby, it's okay. No one will hurt you, okay? I promise. Come to me.'' he said and held his arm out for Shawn to take.

Kayden and Zack just heard the guy mumble weird stuff in Korean and reach for something. But when Shawn took shaky steps towards Jihyuk, it was clear that he was calling him.

Zack was sitting perfectly still on the couch, not daring to make a move. The last thing he wanted is to make Shawn scared even more.

Once Shawn was in Jihyuk's reach, the older pulled him close and whispered comforting words to him. This made Kayden growl.

Shawn froze in Jihuk's hold and the taller glared at Kayden. But Kayden couldn't control himself. Another Alpha had his hands so intimately around his mate and it made him outrageous.

Shawn lifted a hand towards his head. Kayden could see a few rings twinkling on his fingers and he felt surprised.

''You ok?'' Jihyuk whispered to Shawn, worry clear in his voice. Shawn smiled, overwhelmed with the amount of affection he felt for his mate.

''I'm okay hyung. I can do this.'' he whispered back and then pulled on his stone cold mask.

Kayden waited while the two of them whispered, and then Shawn finally pulled his hood off. The sight made Kayden's heart beat faster and Zack's jaw to drop.

Shawn's hair was dyed an intense violet color, making his features seem even bigger. It fell over his forehead and into his emerald eyes that sparkled in the light. His face was drawn into a cold, careless looking mask, but Kayden saw right through it. He could see the fear in Shawn's eyes.

Everything was quiet for what it felt like hours.

''Holy fuck.'' Zack exclaimed. Kayden turned his head to glare at him. Shawn's expression fell and he now looked confused while Jihyuk just burst out laughing.

''Zack!'' Kayden snapped but Zack just ignored him. ''What! I mean, do you see this?'' he waved his hand  towards the pair in front of him. ''They look like something from a magazine cover! You now, those, those...Colorful dudes we saw on magazines at the airport!''
