11:40 PM. I quickly dialed her number. I am sure she wouldn't mind if I will be bugging her this late.

"Hello?" she answered, sounding sleepy.

I smiled. Just simply hearing her voice makes an unexplainable feeling inside me, a good feeling. God, I probably really love her... "Hi, pretty..." I answered back.

"You really didn't text me the whole day to do this, don't you?"

"Do what?"

"Hmm?" I bet she's smiling... simple thing pero kinikilig ako.

"I just thought that you're probably tired, may laro ka kanina di ba?"

"And you think at almost 12 in the midnight, I am no longer tired?"

"Hmmm...yeah? Haha… But I haven't told you yet, you were so great kanina sa game niyo."

"Proud of me?"

"Sobra." I heard her chuckling.

"Kinikilig ka ba?"

"Hindi a...", she defended though her soft chuckles are audible. She's so cute.

I was about to tease her more but I look at the clock beside me, 11:59 PM. And I didn't take my eyes of it as the seconds’ passes,

"55..." I started to count,

"56..."

"57..."

"58..."

"59..." 12:00. January 21.

I really stayed up this late for this. This is the first time that I will be celebrating a girlfriend's birthday.

"Happy Birthday, Pots. Happy Birthday, Mahal ko.", I said.

Hindi ko alam kung kelan, hindi ko alam kung paano.

Sa mga simpleng paglabas, sa mga simpleng banter, simpleng hawak at lambing bilang kaibigan pa noon, naramdaman kong nahuhulog na ako sa kanya.

At first, I got afraid, I was terrified.

Am I really in love? With a girl? With my friend?

I tried to shut the thoughts down, tried to make myself believe, that it is not... I am not in love with her. I am not in love with Pots.

But maybe, brain cannot do anything about it, feelings cannot lie.

Accepting the fact, I planned to distance myself, but I failed. Hindi man lang ako nakahakbang kahit isang hakbang palayo sa kanya.

And I am glad I didn't.

I have her now.

"Aww...Pots...salamat. Salamat, Mahal ko.", simpleng mga salita pero dahilan para tila magwala ang puso ko, "Salamat, Mahal ko."

Ang sarap isipin na mahal ako ng taong mahal ko.

"Mahal na mahal kita, Pots." she said.

"Mahal na mahal din kita...sobra." sagot ko.

We talked until I don't know for how long. Time doesn't seem existing when I am with her or talking with her.

Despite the short sleep or probably, I should call it a nap, I woke up with a wide as an ocean smile in my face. This is an important day, Den and Bang's birthday.

Then, I realized, maybe January 21 is God's gift for me. Two of the most important people in my life are celebrating their birthday today, my best friend and my girlfriend.
