I think I'm high.
On the flight back to the compound I kept getting headaches. But the only problem was figuring out if it was from Sigyn or every time Thor opened his mouth. Which was a lot because he fell asleep with his mouth open.
So, I was popping my meds like candy.
Now I can't feel my brain. Is that a good thing?
At the moment I stand beside Dr. Banner as we, along with Nebula, work on the time travel suit Scott will be using for the test runs. Scott stands in the middle of our little circle modeling the suit, watching us as we mutter to each other.
"Time travel suit not bad," Rhodey calls from behind me.
I glare over my shoulder at him, arching an eyebrow. "Really? Because this thing is pretty hideous." I slur as I look Scott up and down in the suit. Scott knits his eyebrow together at my insult to his suit. "It's just so... bulky. And ugly."
"That's because you're so used to Wakandan technology and battle suits," Rhodey explains. "Your stuff is a lot nicer than what we savages are forced to work with."
I snicker at Rhodey as I shakily hand Dr. Banner the small vile of red liquid. Something Scott calls 'Pym Particles'. He says this is what allows him to grow and shrink.
Scott watches with wide eyes as Dr. Banner gingerly takes the vile from my trembling hand and moves to insert it into Scott's suit.
"Hey, hey!" Scott snaps as he jerks away. "Easy! Easy!"
"I'm being very careful." Dr. Banner says.
"No, you're being very Hulky!" Scott snaps, snatching the vile from Dr. Banner. I tilt my head at the fact that Scott used 'Hulk' as a verb.
"I'm being careful!" Dr. Banner snaps as he steps back. Suddenly my vision goes out of focus causing me to shake my head. Dr. Banner gently grabs my shoulder as I wobble backward. I pat his hand slowly as everything refocuses.
Scott holds up the vile at Dr. Banner, not noticing me. "These are Pym Particles, all right? And ever since Hank Pym snapped out of existence, this is what we have. We're not making any more!"
"Scott," Rhodey says as I hold my head. He's being too loud. "Calm down."
"Yeah, you need to calm down. Dr. Banner knows what he's doing." I slur as I try to refocus on the task at hand. But Rhodey grabs the crook of my elbow and pulls me next to him, sitting me down on the bench. "I'm fine." I murmur as I try to stand.
"No," Rhodey says as he pushes me back down. "You can work when the meds are out of your system."
I growl at him but Nebula hands me a tablet, instructing me to check some of the data. I nod to her gratefully before doing as I'm told.
"Sorry." Scott sighs deeply, glancing around at us. "We got enough for one round-trip each. That's it. No do-overs. Plus, two test runs."
Dr. Banner turns to face the controls on the wall as I slowly stand up, double-checking something. Scott shoves the vile into his suit before vanishing from view. I squeal at his sudden disappearance.
When Scott returns, his lips are pursed. "One test run." He murmurs, not meeting anyone's eyes.
"You idiot." I shriek as I slap my hand against the side of his head. Scott cowers away from me as Rhodey grabs my elbow again and sits me back in my spot.
