"Hi." The Spider-Boy croaks from his curled-up position on the ground, cradling the gauntlet close to his chest. "I'm-I'm Peter Parker."
I can't help but coo at the adorable boy as I approach Carol from behind, Shuri at my side. He's just so cute!
"Hi Peter Parker," Carol smirks as she tilts her head to the side. "You got something for me?"
Peter stands, handing Carol the gauntlet. He glances over to the army that continues to advance, now towards Carol. "I don't know how you're gonna get through all that," he marvels.
"Don't worry," Wanda says with a tilt of her head as she and Brunhilda on her flying horse land behind them.
"She's got help," Okoye finishes as she steps up, followed by Pepper in her own Iron Man suit.
I smirk up at Peter before giving him a quick wink, making him blush. "We got this," I tell him as I reactivate my mask.
Shuri and I step up next to Carol, bumping our gauntlets together as a woman in yellow grows to normal size in front of Okoye. Nebula falls into formation, along with a green woman and a girl with antennae.
Wanda and Carol take to the air along with Pepper and Brunhilda as the rest of us run forward. I stay at Shuri's side as we open fire on any alien that gets in our way.
Ahead, I spy Thanos as he advances onto Carol and the gauntlet. Pepper, Shuri, and I open fire on him, slowing his advance. Thanos hits the ground before rolling a few times and quickly jumps back to his feet. I watch as he quickly reels back his arm and hurls his destroyed sword straight towards the quantum van.
"No!" I scream as the van is destroyed by the sword, causing an explosion.
"Kidara!" Shuri screams as we're thrown back.
"Shuri!" I scream back as I glance around desperately for her. I spy her crumpled form a distance away. But I also spy the gauntlet, not too far away from where I stand.
I make a final decision as I rush to the gauntlet.
Just as I grab for it, Thanos appears. I swing at him with my sword before thrusting the blade at his leg. He releases a furious growl as I take a defensive stance in front of the gauntlet.
"You will never be a God," I growl at him. He just glares at me before standing at his full height.
"Perhaps," he muses taking a step towards me. "But you won't be alive long enough to find out." And with that, he reels his arm and backhands me, sending me flying across the field.
I land with my head thumping against a large piece of rubble. Shaking my head, I try to clear the dull throbbing in my skull. That's definitely not Sigyn.
Jumping up, I take a quick glance around before another alien lunges at me. Swiping at my suit, I stumble back before glaring up at it. I reach behind me, grabbing ahold of my batons. It's been a while since I beat someone up with them.
Swinging down, I bash the baton into the alien's skull before turning to the next one, doing the same. I'm furious, I'm tired, and I just want all this to end. But it seems like the numbers of these beasts are never-ending.
I jump forward, swinging again and again. I'm just so tired of fighting.
SNAP
I suck in a terrified breath at it's sound, waiting for the unthinkable. Maybe this time I'll disappear.
But it doesn't happen.
Instead, some the enemy aliens standing in front of me disappear into dust. I watch open-mouthed as slowly one by one all of Thanos's army starts to disintegrate.
Standing on shaky legs, I turn in a small circle.
We won.
It's over.
I soon spy T'Challa and can't contain myself.
"T'Challa!" I cry as I rush towards him. He turns just as I tackle him in a hug. Deactivating my mask, I begin to cry into his chest. "T'Challa, I'm so sorry for the way I acted before. All I kept thinking about was how you were gone thinking I was mad at you. I didn't mean to be so mad. I don't know what was going on with me. I've..."
T'Challa wraps his arms around me tightly, burying his face into my hair. "It's okay Kidara," he murmurs comfortingly. "That was the past. We're together now. Everyone is safe. Thanks to you."
I smile up at him as he brushes some stray hair out of my face. "I've missed you, ubhuti omkhulu." big brother
"It's okay usisi omncinci." little sister
I bury my face back into T'Challa's chest, happy to have him and everyone else back.
But it's short-lived.
"Mr. Stark... we won..."
The cry pulls me away from T'Challa as I turn. In the distance, I can see the crumpled form of somebody. A small crowd gathering around him.
"Oh no... Tony," I gasp, recognizing the Man of Iron. I cover my mouth in realization. On his hand are the infinity stones, his whole right arm burned and destroyed. He used them, the stones, to make Thanos and his army disappear. He sacrifised himself to save the world.
I turn my head away as T'Challa rests a comforting hand on my shoulder, pulling me to his side. I bury my face in his chest as I fight against the tears that threaten to fall.
The crunching of gravel grabs my attention. Turning fully around I watch as Clint kneels to the ground. I turn back to Tony as his wife cries on his shoulder, nodding my head.
Slowly, I sink to one knee, honoring the loss of a great warrior. Next to me, T'Challa joins, nodding his head in respect. Soon everyone gathered is kneeling in respect for Tony.
The billionaire.
The genius.
The Playboy.
The philanthropist.
The Iron Man.
A true hero.
