Two months.

Only two months of being in this castle, and you already felt like crap.

Knight training was much harder than you had expected. Every day, it was wake up an hour before sunrise, patrol the sanctums, spar with the other knights, and only have five minute breaks when you had the chance. You knew training would be hard, but not this ridiculous! You had just finished the day's training, an hour after sunset, and made your way to your appointed bedroom. Your bedroom was probably the worst one. The paint was coming undone, the bed was one more bounce from completely collapsing, and the pillow was nothing more than a folded thin blanket. It made sense why they would give you such a room. You were a girl. A girl they underestimated. They wanted to test your tolerance of uncomfortable living, to see if you would quit. Of course, despite your arguments, you pulled through the nights. Not comfortably, but you did.

You walked into your room and lazily dropped your sword and practice shield on the ground, walking over and flopping face-first into your bed. You groaned, muffled by the mattress, then turned to your back. "What a day..." you mumble. You stare at the ceiling. Your thought of the past few months ran through your head. You were so determined to do this. You were so happy to be accepted. Why are they making it difficult for you? Again. Because you're a woman. It's hard, but something's keeping you going. A thought-- no, a voice-- inside, telling you that this is some type of destiny. That you were meant to be a knight, no matter what you would be put through. You've been hearing it for quite some time, almost the whole time you were here. Of course, that could be a silly daydream to keep your spirits high, but still.

Something is telling you to stay.

Your thoughts were cut off as you suddenly heard a distressed scream. Your eyes widen as you quickly sat up, looking around. You ran to your bedroom window and looked out, looking around. You then look up, toward the window of Prince Link's room. You heard the screams coming from there, occasionally hearing a yell for help. Adrenaline started to pump as you began to panic "Hold on, your highness!!" You called. You quickly ran to your bed and kicked your sword upward with the front of your foot, catching it and taking off. You sprinted down the halls, sometimes skillfully dodging passing knights or guards, to get the the royal chambers. Once there, you quickly kicked open the prince's bedroom doors, seeing several other knights inside as well. However, there was no danger. Not physical or visual danger, anyway.

The prince was sleeping, thrashing about in his bed while screaming. You try to look past the crowd, barely noticing his eyes barely lined with tears. "Your Majesty, wake up!" A knight said, desperate to wake the panicking prince. Yet it was to no avail. You slowly walked a bit closer to the prince as the knights looked at you.

"Trainee! Leave!" One said, both sounding panicked and annoyed. "This is knight business! You are not permitted in the prince's chambers!"

"It's trainee business as well if the prince is in any type of trouble!" You say sternly while placing your hands on your hips. You finally manage to walk closer and get a proper look at the prince. Sweat beaded his face as he panted, tears growing slightly with each call to help. He was almost looking like he could cry in his sleep.

"This has happened so often nowadays," a second knight said, scratching his head. "Every night for the past week, Prince Link has been thrashing about in his sleep...! Screaming, sweating, tearing up, as if he was in grave danger...! Or witnessing it, at least."

"And we can never wake him up!" One beside him added, frustrated. "He's always forced to endure this until dawn."

You glance at the knights who spoke, then once more at the prince. You felt bad hearing that he had to go through this. Every night for a week? How did you only now hear about this? You think for a moment before turning to the knights. "Maybe someone should go ask Queen Zelda if she knows how to help...?" You suggest. The knights look at each other, then nod to you and run out to find their queen, desperate to get Link to stop the noise and panic. Only you had remained, looking toward the entryway of the room for a moment before turning back to the prince. He continued to squirm, still screaming and finally crying. You give a sincere, pitiful look. "Its going to be alright, your Majesty..." you whisper, sitting beside him on the bed. "I'm here now. I'm here..." Not knowing what else you could do, you slowly reached over and grabbed his left hand.
