You made your way through Hyrule Field in the late afternoon, bidding a quick goodbye to the Deku tribe. You had your heart set on Death Mountain, keeping your eye in the direction of the large smoke ring from the volcano in the far distance. As the sun began to set across the vast horizon, your eyes sought out for a place to stay. You were so focused on the temple that you didn’t even consider what you would do afterward. ‘Maybe I should have asked to stay in the kingdom for the night…’ You thought, mentally facepalming. Despite the adrenaline in your veins and the determination you had to rescue Link, your legs began trembling in exhaustion as your eyelids slowly grow heavy. Granted, you did just battle a powerful foe in a darkness-ridden temple, and it had to be done in less than 24 hours, but still. With great power comes a great need for rest. Especially in the late day.

The Goddesses began painting the skies their nightly shades of violet, orange, red, and indigo, only making your drowsiness grow. ‘Great…’ You thought. Your movements became slow, and the world seemed to dim with your closing eyes. Slowing to a shaky and side-by-side walk, you yawn, attempting to rub the sleep from your (e/c) eyes. With little luck, you drop to your knees, letting yourself collapse to the grassed ground below you. The grass underneath felt soft and comforting, like a bed in nature. "So... soft..." you mumble. You then move to place your arms under your head in a pillow-like position, your eyelids falling. "Just... a little... rest... won't..." Your sentence ended itself as your eyes drifted completely closed, allowing your thoughts to wander into a dream. As your still found body slept on the grass, your mind reeled into a newfound horror.

A low organ was heard from nearby, causing you to softly groan. It played a slow song that you didn’t recognize. Your eyes slowly drifted open, carefully sitting up. You then stand, looking around. Everywhere you turned, there was no light. You put a hand on your chin to think, but you then noticed t wasn’t gloved anymore. You look at your hands and notice the sleeve were different. You quickly look down, barely seeing that you were in your old trainee tunic.

You were very confused. “How… where am I?” You ask, looking around. Nothing except darkness at a large distance. Suddenly, two stained brass torches parallel to each other light up nearby, which you faced. Then another set behind them. Torches lit two by two as they lead down a line, one on each side of a hall, lighting everything around you. You look around to now see polished marble walls with small gold statues decorating the sides. They shifted between orange and natural color as the flames licked the surfaces. Your gaze fell to look at the ground, seeing a satin red carpet, leading down the hall you stood. You slowly turn to the end of the hall to see a chapel, a statue of Hylia standing in her glory on a quartzite pillar. The organ you had heard earlier was now visible on the side of the chapel, being played by none other than Ghirahim himself. You let your features curve into a glare as you pretty much speed walk to the chapel, wanting to give him a piece of your mind. But as you got closer, you notice two people standing below the statue. You slow to a stop two meters away, seeing much more clear now.

The two people were Ganadaur and Link.

Your eyes grew wide.

Ganadaur had worn a silk black gown rimmed with red lace and had an orange necklace. She also wore a veil of black lace which was topped with a silver tiara decorated with black opals. A truly dire smirk played her blood red lips while looking down at Link. Link, however, was chained by his wrists and ankles to the floor at her feet. He wore a purple and gold uniform that looked very uncomfortable, tightening seams on the arms and knees. He wore a small gold crown that seemed to be forced onto his head.

“P...Prince…?” You softly ask. The room was then bathed in a deep red, to which Ganadaur began to cackle. You slowly look up at a hole in the ceiling to see the horror that caused this.
