You had gathered Nayore and your items after thanking the keeper that watched Nayore, leaving the desert shortly after. The moon was high and bright, safely guiding you out into Hyrule. You couldn’t help but glance up toward the moon every now and then, starting to a get a bit paranoid about when the moon could shift to the red you feared so deeply. Memories of your vision during your rescue began flashing through your mind. ‘The month is nearly over…’ You think, starting to get tense. ‘It won’t be long until the Blood Moon comes. When Ganaduar will marry Link and the world comes to an end... And all I have to guide me through to victory is a few clues and strange dreams. I was so upbeat when leaving the Gerudo, but...’
You gave a small sigh, leaning your head against Nayore as you continued. “Do you think I’m cut out for this, Nayore…?” You ask, glancing up at the steed. “I mean, I used to be so confident in it, repeatedly saying that I can do it…! That I can save Hyrule, and everyone in it. But now, with the Blood Moon so close…” You trailed off, stopping in your tracks as you gaze to the ground. “I don’t really know anymore… Maybe it was just the knight in me saying all those things, but now… I…” You clench your hands into fists as your eyes shut.
“It’s more serious than I thought. Way more serious... I’m getting scared, Nayore…”
Nayore, who had taken a few steps ahead, stopped and turned to you. As if sensing your distress, she went over and lightly nudged against you, as a way of reassurance. You look at her and let out a small giggle, stroking her mane. “Prince Link chose a fine steed to be at his side. Thank you for coming with me…” You then leaned your forehead against hers, hearing a soft neigh come from the horse. After a few moments to calm yourself down, you step back again, lightly patting her neck. “Come on. Let’s keep going.” You start to walk again as Nayore followed behind.
The grasslands of Hyrule were a sight for sore eyes. After the deserts of Gerudo Valley, the battle-ready village of Kakariko, and all the other temples you had to endure of your quest, you never had much time to enjoy the actual journey. You look around. Hyrule was such a lovely place. It was beautifully constructed as if the Goddess had taken great care of every detail she placed. Fireflies occasionally flew across your view, not aware of the fate Hyrule could endure. You almost felt bad for them. Just innocent creatures, going about their day with a certainty that they would see tomorrow. As you thought of this, you realize something, quickly pulling out the letters people throughout Hyrule sent to you. You hold them in both hands, looking back and forth at them.
Everyone who wrote these letters. Everyone that helped you get to where you are, and who said they had believed in you. They were entwined with this fate as well. If you fail, it's not only Link at stake. The Deku, Revali and Medli, the Gorons and Zora Royal Family, Impa, Urbosa, Nabooru, your family -- all of them -- everyone would be in danger. You gripped the letters slightly, tension beginning to rise again. ‘They all helped me get here… They’re all counting on me…!’ You take a deep breath as you place the letters back in your bag. ‘They believe in me… I can’t lose…!’ A new determination began to grow as you recall everything you’ve been told. How everyone needed you.
“Good luck, Heroine!”
“Just come back, okay?”
“Thank you, brother!”
“I wish you the best of luck.”
“We cherish the lives of our sisters. We apologize for wasting your time.”
“Thank you, (Y/n), our Heroine of Hyrule!”
‘Everyone…’ you thought, glancing toward the stars. ‘You all trust me… And I want to protect you... I promise I’ll do whatever I can so I don’t disappoint you…!’
