(short, like me 😌💅)

Once morning had rolled around I noticed I wasn't in my bed, I was laying the grass in the middle of a wide open field. And there was someone next to me.

I rubbed my eyes and turned into my other side to see Ben sleeping peacefully in the green grass.

I carefully removed his arms from around me and sat up to stretch. I stood up, brushed off my trousers and looked up at the sky.

The sun was completely risen but there was still a purple glow on the horizon.

I sighed and looked back down at Ben, still snoring in the grass.

I crouched back down to his level and nudged his shoulder.

He squinted and looked around, once his eyes met mine he smiled and sat up.

"What time is it?" He asked, rubbing one of his eyes and yawning.

I rolled up the sleeve of my yellow cardigan and checked my watch.

10:47 AM

I showed my watch to Ben and he just stared at me.

"Why'd you wake me up so early?"

I shook my head and smiled.

He stood up and walked over to his car with me following close behind.

~~~
Ben and I drove off to the diner in the middle of town for a drink.
We both just ordered a couple of cokes and sat at a booth to talk for awhile.
I propped my head up on my hand and looked into Ben's eyes. He looked sad.
"Benny?"
"Hm?"
"Are you alright?"
He flashed me a weak smile and nodded.
"Yeah, why?"
"Just wondering."
I saw right through him, there was something wrong but knowing his stubborn ass, he was gonna try to keep it a secret as long as he possibly could. That's the thing about Ben, he doesn't like being sensitive because he thinks it makes him seem weak.
I snapped out of my thoughts and reached across the table to hold one of Ben's bruised hands.
When my hand made contact with his he flinched a little because of the noticable cuts and bruises that covered his hands.
"Ben."
He looked up from our hands.
"Wanna go back to mine? I'm sure my parents aren't home"
He seemed to give it a bit of thought but he nodded.
We grabbed our jackets and walked out the door.
It wasn't long until we were at my house since I didn't live far from the diner.
When we got inside we raced eachother up the stairs, like old times. When we bursted through my door I ran over to my bed and flopped down, Ben following suit.
I turned onto my side and looked up into his big green eyes. His eyes could convey any or every emotion all at once.
I brought my hand up to his face and tucked a tuft of his blond hair behind his ear. I let the back of my hand slowly trail down his cheek.
He pulled my hand away and locked our fingers together. I pressed soft kisses on the cuts on his knuckles and he blushed.
When I looked up we smiled at eachother like a couple of dumbasses.
He closely inspected my hand and noticed the ring he gave me.
"You really kept that thing?"
"Yep, never took it off even once."
There was a silence until I decided to break it.
"Hey, Ben"
"Yes love?"
"Are you sure you're alright? You know you can tell me anything right."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine I'm just trying to readjust again y'know?"
I nodded and moved closer to him.
He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist and torso, making sure I wouldn't leave his grip.
"Joey."
"Mm?"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
