"Look, these are made to calm down people who are worried. They want us to be held accountable Steve." Tony sighed. They were sitting at a large conference table disagreeing on the Accords. Not new, but people were starting to get worried that they weren't going to agree and just go their merry way. "We'll fix and change this later. Just sign the darn paper."
Natasha, Vision, Rhodey, and Tony has already signed. Spider-Man did as well, but on an alternate version because he was under eighteen.
Natasha hadn't signed willingly, in fact, she was quite adamant about her disfavor of the Accords, but she went along anyways. Peter had signed quickly once the revised document was available for him saying, "People need to know that their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is willing to accept when he is wrong."
Tony was proud of his son for making such a responsible decision. Natasha was not so pleased.
"They could collar us. For all we know, they could kill us!" Steve argued. Tony rolled his eyes.
"Have you not read the darn thing? Section five article six. It says it right there Steve. "
"The government is a twisted world filled with liars." Sam broke in. It was true, and Tony paused for just a moment.
"Yet Steve here is literally a walking model for our government." He threw him the stack of papers, surprisingly light for such a fat document. "And this isn't just one government. It's not just ten. This is 117 governments guys!"
Natasha then broke in. "Once these are signed, we can request for amendments such as getting rid of the council or having one single team leader. It's not ideal, and we know that, but we need to convince them that we're not a threat."
Tony stared at her in shock. "That's the entire reason the Accords were made guys. To hold us responsible for collateral damage and be lead by the council so that one person isn't deciding everything, which causes problems like bias." Tony paused. "Have you guys ever had someone stare you in the eye and blame you for killing their kid?" His voice grew desperate. "You guys don't know what that's like. I'm never going to forget her eyes."
Rhodey nodded. "It's no different than the military. You have limits, you need jurisdiction. Without it, you need to step back. This isn't the tv shows, and we can't just break down doors just because we feel it's necessary."
"The best hands are our own. They want to use us. They'll hold us back. What if we're not there when we're needed?"
"They want to take my powers. Experiment on me!" Wanda yelled, sparks of red surrounding her. Steve quickly turned around and exaggerated his breathing and told her to copy him.
"This is exactly why. Wanda, they don't want you to lose your powers, but they want you to be able to control them. Legos, it was a mistake, but actions have consequences and Wakanda isn't happy with you. None of the world is. The moment you step out that door, there's not promising that someone doesn't have a sniper ready for your head. The US won't help you, you're not a citizen. It also doesn't help your case that you got your weird powers from Hydra, but we'll sweep that under the rug like we always do." Tony shot back.
Everyone was angry at him, Wanda especially, and she stood up and began to use her magic to lift Tony up.
"You'll regret saying that." She threatened. Out of nowhere, Peter came in standing on the ceiling and webbed Tony to the ground.
"Jarvis told me there was an issue. Dad I need your help on a question."

"Tony." Steve interjected in the middle of Tony and Peter trying to solve a complicated equation at the dinner table. Tony just held his index finger up and motioned for Steve to leave.
