the night started with Colby bringing Sam to a drive-in movie, then a nice dinner overlooking the city. they walked through a few stores. they shared laughs and smiles. a few gentle kisses here and there. and that all led up to Colby's major plan. he drove Sam to a park and told him to put on a blindfold.
*"is this where I die?" Sam chuckled as Colby helped him put on the blindfold.
~"no! you're gonna be fine." Colby placed his hands on Sams shoulders and led him through a little clearing in the trees of the park.
it led to a little patch of level ground. the grass was alive and trimmed perfectly and lights were hung through the few trees surrounding the area. a blanket was in the middle of the trees and a basket of dessert sat on the end of it. Colby walked Sam to the blanket and took the blindfold off. Sam gasped lightly and did a 360 spin. his eyes widened when he saw everything Colby had done, just for him. he hugged Colby and kissed his lips. he grabbed his hands and pulled him to sit on the blanket. they enjoyed the desserts and then looked at the stars. Sam in Colby's arms, neither of them saying anything. Colby stuck his hand in his pocket. he fiddled with the small velvet box. he stood up before grabbing Sam's hand and pulling him to stand in front of him. he took a deep breath and began speaking.
~" Sam, you've been my best friend for so long. you've been there for me. at my best times, and at my worst. you have an ability to make me smile with just a single action. you make me laugh and smile when no one else can. you have brought me happiness. you mean the world to me. if I could give you the stars, I would. I have never loved anyone as much as I love you. and I plan to spend the rest of my life with you. so... Samuel John Golbach, will you make me happier than ever before... and marry me?" Colby finished talking and got down on one knee.
he opened the small box and grabbed Sam's hand. Sam looked down and tears rolled down his cheeks.
*"yes. oh my gosh...yes." Sam pulled Colby up and hugged him.
he leaned back from the hug and grabbed Colby's face. he looked into his eyes and smiled. then he leaned and planted a passionate kiss against his lovers lips. neither could contain their happiness. they stayed for a little while longer and Sam couldn't stop looking at the ring placed on his finger not much earlier. the two shared many kisses and smiles until they got home. they made the announcement and spent the next few days just appreciating and loving each other more than ever before.
