I woke up to a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. I didn't have to turn around to know who they belonged to. I slowly slid out of the strong grip and grabbed some clothes from the closet. I went to change but turned around and placed a kiss on the forehead of my boyfriend. Colby. yeah. my best friend of like 7 seven years. we admitted our feelings for each other about 5 months ago. we've been dating ever since and I couldn't be happier. I smiled at him then went to the bathroom to shower. after about 30 minutes, I turned the shower off, got dressed, washed my face, then headed downstairs. I stopped at the foot of the stairs as I heard soft humming. I looked towards the kitchen to see Colby, shirtless, cooking breakfast and humming along to whatever song was playing on the speaker next to him. I walked up to him and placed my arms around his hips as I laid my head on his shoulder.
* "what are we doing today, love?" I asked against his shoulder.
~"well, I have an idea. ever been ice skating?" he asked.
I could hear the smile in his voice. I shook my head no and we began discussing places to ice skate and all.

our uber pulled up to the rink. we climbed out and I ran to he other side of the car to lace my fingers with Colby's. he looked down at me and smiled. we walked in and paid. we went get our skates and headed to the rink. not many people were here. a father and daughter. and two other couples. but that was it. Colby stepped onto the ice and started skating with no problem. I hesitantly started trying to skate. I guess Colby saw the way I was struggling, because he skated towards me and grabbed my hands to help me stand up straight. he started skating backwards as he guided me.
*"showoff..." I muttered.
he laughed lightly then leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to my cheek. I smiled up at him then focused on my skating. after an hour, and a few falls, I had finally learned to skate. we skated for another 2 hours. those two hours consisted of Colby and I trying to skate faster than one another, him always winning then showering my face with kisses. as our skate time was about to end, the speaker cam on and played a slow song. Colby grabbed my hands and pulled me against him. he, again, started slowly skating backwards as he held m close. I leaned my head on his chest and listened to is heartbeat. the song ended and Colby grabbed my chin. he placed a lingering kiss on my lips, then pulled away only to smile at me.

*"I love you too." I told him as I leaned my head on his chest again.
