I woke up to something being knocked over in the kitchen. I turned sideways and checked the clock, 2:00 am. I looked behind me and saw that Colby wasn't there anymore. his insomnia must have been starting again.
I threw the covers off my legs and grabbed his sweatshirt off the floor. I pulled it over my head and walked out into the kitchen. I looked towards the counter and saw Colby leaning against it, staring out at the balcony. he had a cup of tea in his hands and his hair was messy. he had dark circles under his eyes and he didn't have a shirt on. I walked further out of our room and closer to him. he looked away from the balcony and met my sympathetic gaze.
~"did I wake you? I'm sorry baby." he said as he placed the cup down and opened his arms.
I walked into them and wrapped my arms around his waist. I buried my head into his neck and closed my eyes.
*"you don't need to apologize. I would much rather stay up with you than be asleep without you." I said as he pulled me closer and lifted one of his hands to run it through my hair, then pick up his tea.
I leaned up and kissed his cheek before going back into the room to grab my phone. I hooked it up to the bluetooth speakers and clicked our playlist we made.
"blue" by Troye Sivan started playing. I grabbed the cup from his hands and placed it on the counter. I turned back to him and smiled as he furrowed his brows. I grabbed him by his waist and pulled him against me. he smiled and wrapped one arm around my waist before connecting his other hand with mine. I pulled my hand up to the back of his neck and played with the small hairs there. we swayed to the music as I placed my head against his chest. I listened as his heart beat steadily. I closed my eyes and let him lead the dance.
after a few songs, he pulled back a bit and I looked up at him. he leaned down and connected our lips. I put both hands around his neck. he tightened his grip around my waist and traced circles on my hips. I pulled away and kissed both his cheeks, then the tip of his nose, then his lips once again. he smiled and chuckled.
~"you're so cute. let's go back to bed, my love." he smiled as he picked me up bridal style and carried me back to our room.
he placed me on the bed and climbed in next to me. he pulled my back against his chest and kissed my neck gently. I smiled.
*"I love you." I said as I fell into a tired state.
~"I love you more." was the last thing I heard before I fell asleep.
