Chapter 5: An Unexpected Gift

At Capsule Corp, Krillin, Piccolo, and Yamcha surround an object as Vegeta and 18 stand nearby. Within the backyard of the home, lies a crater big enough to create a small pond where everyone surrounds it, seeing a lone attack ball lying in the center.

The atmosphere is tense as the mystery behind the pod is front and center.

"Anyone want to take a guess what's going on here?" Yamcha asks.

"Clearly someone decided to pay a visit from space," Krillin comments.

"The best question to ask is whose inside," Vegeta states.

"Whoever they are, ruined my lunch!"

Nearby the crater in the shade, Beerus, the God of Destruction and Whis sit and relax, enjoying a meal. Beerus isn't too fond of the large interruption and tries to keep his temper in check. It's just then that Goku and the others appear, planting themselves between the two groups.

"It's about time you showed up."

"Eh heh, sorry guys we got a little behind along the way. What's up?" Goku questions.

He then sees the crater with the attack ball and slides down to it where Krillin, Piccolo and Yamcha are.

"This attack ball just appeared out of nowhere. We don't know who is in it or where it came from."

"Well let's find out shall we. I sense a faint energy inside, it's familiar."

Suddenly, the attack pod opens and everyone is alert. They surround the pod waiting to see inside then, they are all shocked to see who it is. Frieza. Badly injured and beaten to end of his life, he lies stuffed within the pod barely conscious. Vegeta is alarmed and goes down to observe up close himself.

"Frieza!!!"

"What happened to him?"

Piccolo checks for a pulse and looks back at the others.

"He's barely breathing. Whoever did this to him beat him to an inch of his life."

They all look at their mortal enemy for years, wondering what's the next course of action.

"Krillin, you still have those senzu beans right?"

"What in god's name are you thinking Kakarot?" Vegeta asks alarmingly.

"Helping Frieza."

"Are you sure that's a good idea? Last time I remember him coming back to Earth with Broly as his lap dog."

Broly stares from atop the crater, staring at Frieza in the pod angrily. Goku is concerned of this idea he proposed, but the kindness in his heart says other wise, desiring to find out who could have been able to defeat Frieza to the end of his life. Yamcha and Krillin slowly reach into the pod to grab Frieza, alert to see if he'll suddenly awake. Right then, a flashing light occurs from the attack pod and a projection emits above the crater in the form of a person. It's Cooler.

"Who is that?" Yamcha questions.

"Hello Goku, you might be wondering who I am. My name is Cooler, Frieza's brother..."

Everyone gasps at the revelation as they see a holographic projection of Frieza's brother tower above them.

"In a few hours time, I will be arriving to Earth with the entire Cooler Force. I want to meet you, saiyan, the one who ruined my family's name. You've been on my radar for quite some time after destroying everything we once stood for and I intend to rectify that. For the moment, I give you my pathetic little brother as a token of my grace. I look forward to seeing you soon."

The projection disappears and everyone is still in shock by the news as Krillin and Yamcha remove Frieza from the attack pod. Broly isn't too fond of seeing the one who he was told actually killed his father. They get out of the crater and drop Frieza on the ground.

"What are we going to do?" 18 questions.

"I insist we send Frieza back to hell while we have the chance. Then, we can deal with his brother" Vegeta insists.

"But, why would Cooler beat up his own brother?" Piccolo points out.

Beerus and Whis watch from a distance as everything goes on.

"It appears we have ourselves a feud between siblings for power" Whis comments to himself.

Goku feeds Frieza a Senzu Bean, and he eventually opens his eyes. As he sees Goku and hears his voice, he begins to have flashbacks. Suddenly, an angry Frieza jumps up and attacks Goku, surprising everyone. Vegeta is ready to fight but realizes Goku had blocked the attack just in time.

"Easy, Frieza, there's no intent to fight."

Frieza looks around him and everyone is ready to jump in to fight if necessary. He regains his composure and stops.

"Out of all the people to see when I awake, you are the last person on my list Goku."

"Clearly Frieza, your brother didn't have plans for you to wake up. I think having another halo suits you" Vegeta says.

Frieza grinds his teeth before calming himself down and looks at everyone, especially Broly, who isn't too happy to see him out of everyone. He lets out a sigh.

"It appears I have no choice but to side with you all once again. Cooler took everything from me, including my army, I'm left all alone."

"How can we trust you?"

"You're seriously asking that when you clearly seen my brother wants me and you all dead? When him and I fought, he was different since the last time I had seen him. He won't hesitate nor toy around and his power level could even be compared to Broly's."

Goku's eyes go wide with excitement as everyone stares at Broly who's left confused. Frieza looks towards Goku and the two look serious at each other.

"As much as I don't intend to give up my evil ways as usual, I propose a truce for one month if you help me fight against my brother."

Vegeta crosses his arms looking at Goku to make the call. It appears they have no choice but to work together as Goku has made up his mind.

"Deal."

"If you try anything Frieza, I'll send you straight back to hell with your brother right along with you" Vegeta sternly states.
