I let out a blood curdling scream as Carlisle quickly pushed everything off a table, and as gently as he could sat me down. I felt people all around me, but I still felt lost. The pain was unbearable, I was struggling to breathe as Carlisle yelled at me to push. I wasn't ready for this, I just wanted Paul, but he wasn't here, when I needed him.
I felt strong, cold hands grip my shoulders, Jasper had his eyes closed, and he tried to focus on something else, not the smell of blood that now filled the room, even Carlisle seemed to flinch, but he held his cool as he strapped on a mask. I could hear Alice say something to Carlisle, but I couldn't focus. The pain was so intense, I couldn't even think properly.
"Will she be okay?" Alice said, her voice panicked, looking down at my terrified expression.
"She should be, it's coming. I need someone to calm her down!" Carlisle said, his voice muffled from the mask.
Everyone started to shuffle around the room, and someone grasped my hand, squeezing it softly, and running circles over the top of my hand. I clenched my eyes shut, another scream coming from my mouth as Carlisle continued to order me to push.
"Get it out of me!" I yelled, finally able to open my eyes and glare at Carlisle, tears starting to roll down my face. He ignored me, but a few seconds later he called over the loud noise.
"Almost there, only a few more pushes." He hissed, allowing me to catch a breath before beginning to push once more. I hope Paul comes back, I don't think I can do this alone.
----
Paul was already on his way, running as hard as he could, pushing his form to it's limits. He was starting to get tired, but he knew he was close. The pain was now more intense, but he shrugged it off and continued to run towards his imprint. Paul was having a mental battle with himself, arguing about how stupid he was to leave Summer all alone, with his child.
His breathing became heavy, but he had to be there, for her. He wanted to support her, tell her everything would be okay, and keep her away from those vampires. With a new found determination, he seemed to speed up, and soon enough he was in the woods, where he first met his beautiful imprint.
He was close.
----
I growled, pushing one last time as cries of a newborn filled the air. Carlisle quickly shielded the baby from the others, noticing how Jasper's eyes seemed to dilate. I was out of breath, and tired. I just wanted to sleep, but before I could hold my baby, everything went white.
"Summer look-" Carlisle stopped mid-sentence, he could feel her breathing stop. Alice was already at Carlisle's side, taking the little baby in her arms as delicately as she could.
He rushed over to Summer's side, and immediately began CPR, pressing down on her chest and listening for any sign of breathing. Bella's hand was covering her mouth, and if she could cry she would of. The only thought that ran through her mind was that she was right, they should of turned her.
"Bell-" Edward was caught off when Bella immediately left the room, not wanting to watch Carlisle desperately try to bring her back from the dead. Bella knew she wasn't alive anymore, her sister, her companion from the start, was gone.
Everyone was still, but a loud banging broke horrible silence, it was the banging of none other than Paul, Seth, and Jacob. They all had anxious looks plastered on their faces, especially Paul. He wanted to know what was happening, he felt the pain subside, but now he felt nothing. He knew that only meant three things, everything went fine and she was resting, she was a vampire, or she died. He tried his best to convince himself that he wasn't too late, but his convincing failed when he saw the faces of the seven vampires who left the room.
Alice was carrying the little newborn in her arms, but the baby wanted it's Mom. It wouldn't stop wailing for her, and nothing seemed to calm it down, not even Jasper could help. Edward was the first one to move over to the door, his face gloomy and dark as he allowed the three wolves to enter.
"Where is she?" Paul hissed, but before Edward could answer Paul rushed around, trying to find her. Trying to search for anything, but after a few seconds of shuffling around the room, his eyes fell upon the study, where he saw Carlisle pounding on Summer's chest.
Jasper just stood there, Summer's head in his hands. Edward could read his thoughts, and that seemed to only bring him down even more. Jacob and Seth moved next to Paul, also starting at the limp body of Summer. A friend, sister, family, and a lover.
Carlisle tried his best, but Jasper gently let Summer's limp head rest on the table as he grabbed onto Carlisle's arm. He didn't want to stop trying, he knew that this couldn't be the end...was it?
He slowed his pace, and let out a frustrated grunt as he pulled away, a bead of sweat falling from his forehead. As Carlisle turned away from Summer's body, someone burst into the room. Paul now stood there, tears flooding his eyes, and before Carlisle could tell him what happened, he was pushed out of the way.
He stumbled back, slightly dazed from the blow, but he quickly shrugged off that odd feeling, and nodding towards the door. Carlisle tried his best, he wished that he would of done what Bella and Edward suggested, if he had she would still be around right now.
As Carlisle gently shut the door behind him, he left Paul, Seth, and Jacob alone. Paul couldn't even think properly, and a small, insane laugh came out from his mouth. Jacob looked at him, seeing his crazed, and strange expression. He didn't know what to think either, he just wished they got here in time.
Seth jumped as Paul suddenly reached over and began CPR once more, "Paul...she's gone-"
"No, she's not. She's not gone. She's still here. I can feel it." Paul growled angrily, tears rolling down his cheeks, and they fell down on to her chest, sinking down into her blue blouse.
Jacob let out a depressed sigh, and he tried to reach over to Paul but he was pushed away, "Paul, she's gone. I know it's hard but-"
"For the last time, my baby isn't gone." His voice kept getting darker as he mumbled to himself, his eyes focused down on Summer's pale, peaceful face.
"Come on baby..." He whispered, Jacob and Seth both stared at him, dark expressions filling their faces.
----
"What- am I.. dead?" I said groggily, and before I could stand a booming voice filled my head.
"Who knows?" The voice was familiar, but I couldn't think of who it was.
"What does that mean? Where am I?" I stood up, trying to sound intimidating, but all I got was a laugh from the mysterious stranger.
"We'll see." And just like that, everything went dark.
