What is this feeling? I let out a sigh as I felt a bright light engulf me, surrounding me in a tight vortex. I was trapped here, but why? Who was talking to me? My mind was racing, I was scared and alone. The light soon became warm, and it wrapped me in its protective arms. I couldn't be dead, could I?

"You aren't dead." A soft voice cooed, almost like the light from the heavens was speaking to me, but that couldn't be the case. I bit my lip as I felt a soft hand caress my hair, trying to make me feel safe. I resisted the urge to let out a comfortable sigh, I didn't know who this person was, only the gods knew what was happening.

After a few minutes of silence, I decided to speak to the mysterious figure, who now stopped caressing my head, "Who are you?" I asked, the earlier flooding back into my mind like a hurricane washing through a city. I heard the supernatural being let out a small chuckle, my eyes bolting to the shadow who moved in front of me.

The male had strong arms, and a sweet face. I couldn't quite make out what he was wearing, the light was too intense, and for some reason I felt like I knew this person. His grin widened as he caught my confused and wandering eyes, "I'm hurt, Summer." He reached up and ran a single hand through his hair, which was dirty blonde, and long.

I stared at the figure, "Why aren't you telling me?" My voice seemed to hold a slight drop of hostility, but it wasn't my intention. He didn't seem to mind, as he stepped closer, I soon realized I couldn't move my body. A sudden new feeling washed over me, pain.

I let out an agonizing scream, clenching my eyes shut, feeling my abdomen scrunch up in pain. The male didn't do anything as he watched the events unfold, he just held his smile, which now looked more sadistic than warm and helpful. The face seemed to change, but all I saw in that moment was his hair, which was dark and short. The feeling came back, and now I could move. I tossed and turned, before finally the pain seemed to subside momentarily, long enough for me to look at his expression. It was painful, too, but not physically, emotionally. A single tear fell from his face, that now started to waver. My vision began to get blurry, and I called out a name.

This name held meaning, I just knew it, but who was it?

"Paul..." Before my vision failed me, I felt strong arms wrap me in a tight, secure hug.

"I'm here baby."

----

Paul stroked Summer's hand, holding it to his mouth, hoping she would wake up. What Paul had seen two days ago, was her eyes fluttering, and he felt her heart beating, but now she was once again dormant. After he had screamed for Carlisle to come help, there was some good news. Carlisle had told him that she was in a coma, saying that the stress of having a baby that wasn't built for her had damaged her body, and that she needed rest. He couldn't pinpoint how long it would take, but he estimated, at a minimum, a month.

Paul could wait, if it meant seeing his Summer smile once more. Sadly though, Carlisle failed to mention one thing to Paul, who was still oblivious to this. There was always that chance that she wouldn't make it. and Carlisle knew if he told him, Paul wouldn't be too happy with him. There really wasn't anything they could do besides wait, and monitor her health.

Everyone was waiting patiently, well, actually, scratch that, the only ones who were waiting patiently, kind of, were Jacob, Edward, Paul, and Bella. They all had high hopes that she would come back to them, and they knew that it would take some time before they could see her alive and well again, but it was worth it.

The other wolves couldn't stand it, they just wanted their favorite human back with them. The Cullen's, well, the same for them too. Everyone had grown to love and care for this girl, who only arrived here in the small town of Forks not too long ago. Ah yes, what about Charlie? He didn't know she was pregnant, nor did he know that she was pronounced dead. He simply thought she was still with Paul, and that didn't really please him either. He would occasionally call Bella, after failing to connect to Summer, and ask her how she was doing.
