Chapter Twenty-Four

Tony's POV

I hear yelling from the staircase that leads to the vaults, there shouldn't be yelling, why the hell is there yelling? I swiftly get up from the couch and open the door to see the guardians carrying a limp but still clearly awake Nevelia up the stairs, her face was contorted in pain.

I clear the doorway to let them through, they carry her up to the med bay with simple instructions to get there, after I tell them directions all I can do is trail loosely behind as the poor girl writhes in pain.

They get to the med bay and lie her down on the bed, I wish she would just pass out so she could be saved from the pain for a few moments.

"What the fuck happened to her?" I could have asked better questions like how they were here or what they were doing in the vaults but I don't care about that, I only care about her, about saving her, giving her a better life

"She brought us to the vaults and channeled Gamora through the soul stone. She got weak and then the stone disappeared." Quill says

"The stone disappeared? You can't be serious." I tell him

"It's true, it faded away." Mantis says, Mantis never lies

"Oh I gotta call Stephen for this one. Keep an eye on her vitals I will be back." 

I run down to the stairwell and dial his number.

"What Tony I'm doing something important?" I hear him say

"Well this is more important. Something happened to Nevelia, please come quick."

"I'm coming."

The line disconnects and I see an orange portal appear beside me. He steps through looking high and mighty but then the look falls from his face. I point to where she is and he nods to go to her.

The guardians come to the stairwell.

"How are we meant to get back to our ship?" Rocket asks me

"That is the least of my concerns." I spit at him

The little build-a-bear walks down to the lounge room. I lean back against the stairs in complete shock.

Stephen's POV

Everything is normal, yet it's not. She keeps her eyes squeezed shut in pain.

"Nevelia, I need you to talk to me. What happened?" I tell her

"I used the soul stone, I got tired and stopped using it then something happened." She responds panting with each word

"What happened after you used the stone?" My voice is calm even though I'm not

"Everything just started burning."

"Apparently the stone disappeared, do you know where it is?"

"It didn't disappear its on my skin. Can't you see it?"

I frantically look around her skin trying to find the stone.

"No, can you show me where?"

She points to a spot on her collarbone.

"They are all there, all the stones. Why can't you see them?"

"Let me figure that out."

Her collarbone has nothing on it, nothing at all.

"The burning is getting better, it doesn't hurt as much."

"Good, that's good. What were you doing with the stones?"

"I brought Gamora's astral projection into the plane of existence, it worked but I got tired and she went back to the soul world."

"Ok, let me go talk to Tony about this, let me know if anything happens."

She nods and I walk out to where Tony is sitting.

"Please tell me she is ok!" He says standing up

"She is, I don't know what happened to her." I respond

"Tony, I was disabled for an amount of time, my systems are back online now. The infinity stones are missing from the vault." FRIDAY announces

"We will be right there." I respond

We hurriedly walk down to the different rooms where the stones are and check them all.

"Gone, they're all gone." Tony says

"She said they were on her. How is that possible?" I ask

"She is from Elstaren, people there have a different form, maybe that could be related?"

"Good enough for me."

Nevelia's POV

They want me to change back to how I used to look. I sigh before letting myself change.

"The marks of the stones are on her collarbone." I hear Stephen whisper to Tony "She might have the magic back."

"You aren't taking my powers again I won't let you." I tell them letting my normal form slip back over

They look to each other before Tony says "Fine we won't. But you can't tell anyone you got them back, it's our little secret."

"Deal." I smile

I start getting up, Stephen gives me a look before brushing it off. I quickly walk to my room.

"Hey Adi? I get to go to school on Monday, could you please educate me on all human things?" I ask the AI

"Of course Nev, please wait a moment for me to gather all information."

So what did you guys think of this chapter? Was it too weak? I can't wait for Nevelia to start at school I think it will be awesome for her to meet Ned and MJ. What is your school like? (If you still go to school)
