Austin grunted as threw the heavy roof tiles out the bed of the truck. He sighed standing straight wiping his forehead with his forearm. This was some back breaking work, luckily for him, he was just helping to unload the supplies from the truck. He hopped out of the bed of the truck, waving bye to the guy overlooking the sight. He bit his lip when he saw a billboard with Lindsey in the from modeling for some perfume. He found himself digging his phone out his pocket followed by his cigarettes and a lighter. He easily slipped a cancer stick out with his lips and he flipped open his phone clicking through this contacts. His eyes started at her contact, 'wings'. He clicked the call button setting it against his ear as he lit his cig.
He cursed softly as it went to voicemail, he sighed as the phone prompted him to leave a voice mail. "Today I thought about killing you, premeditated murder. You'd only care enough to kill somebody you love" Austin laughed getting strange looks from people around him, "I wanna say fuck You so badly into the phone, but all I ever really think about is you. I really am calling to apologize. Also I'm calling to let you know I'm gonna be swinging bye to visit Dahlia. She mailed me a picture of the last ultrasound, she seems really happy."Austin sighed loudly as he came up to his car leaning against it before finishing. "Lindsey Jinger, I love you and I'm sorry for being a dumb blind ass. You deserve better." He flipped his phone closed stuffing it in his pockets before climbing in the car and heading home to clean himself up.
Austin stood before the Jinger's door waiting to be let in. He was vigorously chewing on his gum as his hands slight shook, to the point you could hear the the shaking of the flowers in his hand. He glanced at the guards who were openly staring at the bruises and scabs on his body. He was tempted to ask them 'can't you guys open the door' but the words died on his tongue as he say a figure before the door through the frosted glass. Lindsey wonders why she was so nervous, she quickly fixed her hair in the mirror by the door and made sure her makeup was okay before adjusting her clothes and opening the door to reveal Austin. She smiled widely at him, he had dressed up. He was wearing the clothes she had bought him as a thank you gift, she chewed on her lip -a habit she had developed during her stay with him- before letting him in. "How are you?" Austin asked handing her the bouquet of flowers.
"I'm doing good Austin, how are you?" She asked back, the energy between them kind of awkward. Lindsey watched as Austin's eyes traced down her length back up, stalling momentarily on her lips before his stormy eyes met her warm brown ones.
"I've been better, is Dahlia up? I called her earlier, said she's try and stay up.""Oh yes, of course. Follow me, she's been so excited to see you."
Austin smiled slightly, looking around at the house. Everything looked like it would cost him a whole paycheck, both arms and both legs. Her muttered a curse under his breath before following Lindsey up stairs. He watched as she stopped at the door a little ways down the hall knocking before opening the door and poking her head in. She leaned out the room waving Austin over.
"Go spend time with her, come get me before you go though. I'd like us to talk for a second."
Austin nodded before slipping into Dahlia's room, right as he entered he was tackled into a giant hug from his sister. He couldn't help but chuckle, as he reciprocated her tight embrace and placed a kiss in her forehead.
Austin had spent a few hours with Dahlia before she told him she really needed to get to bed, Austin tucking her in and kissing her goodnight. She quietly exited to the room, glancing at the clock on the wall. It read 11:45. He sighed running a hand through this hair, he was tired. He found himself wondering around the second floor in search. For Lindsey after a few wrong turns he under up right back by Dahlia's room he was about to just jog down stairs and make his way out when the glow from one of the door caught his attention. He walked over to it knocking twice waiting for a response. Lindsey opened the door smiling that he had remember. She welcomed him into her room, shutting the door behind him. Austin glanced around her room, it was exactly how he expected it to be. She had a large beauty vanity with the lights and neatly organized bins of makeup and skincare beside it was a full length mirror. Her walls a light blush colour with white vertical stripes. The colour then of the room being gray, blush, white and green. The green being from the many plants in her room.
She ushered hims over to the couch in her room, dropping down next to him. They both sat there for a few minutes in silences, simply taking each other's presence in. Austin being the first to speak."Is this over?" He asked, it was a simple question. A simple question that had been weighting in him for the weeks the followed their big fight.
"I don't want it to be." Lindsey whispered, " but, for this to work, I think we both need to get out shit together. I need to get MY shit together, and you get YOUR shit together and then maybe this will work out."
Austin watched her hands move as she spoke. Signaling him and her by moving her hands between them. Austin's mind ran a muck asking, what if you don't want me after your better, what if I'm not enough for you then. But he kept silent simply nodding in agreement. Lindsey lifted him head so his eyes met hers, her hand cupping his cheeks.
"We're not over Austin, just on hiatus. You're still mine and I'm still yours."
She softly touched her lips to his, Austin quickly deepening the kiss. It was slow and soft, Austin's fingers getting tangled in the soft waves of Lindsey's hair. When they finally pulled apart, Austin mumbled, his eyes still closed, "I don't want this to be the last chapter of our story."
"I don't want it to be either."
