"you know how people say love is the most amazing thing on the world?" he nodded and took a sip of his black coffee.

"I don't agree. I think, that by love, they mean if two are in love with each other. but they forget about the agony. the heartbreak. which is love too." he shook his head.

"love. the idea of love."

taking a deep breath, he continued.

"the pursuit, the cultivation, the aspiration, the exploration of love in its most naïve and purest form. it's one of the most important things for me." after that he pulled me closer and kissed my lips roughly.

"I really don't get you." I whispered and placed kisses on his neck.

"I'm confused Matty." I laughed and patted my friend's head.

"i am too." I laid down on the couch and inhaled the smoke of my fag, thinking of Elizabeth and how conpelling she was. I didn't want to get attached to someone her age, actually, I didn't want to get attached to anyone in that matter.

and for gods sake I'm a 23 years old man. I should be fucking with somebody my age, she should be too.

"man,I've never seen you like this, it seems as if she's all you think about." I sighed. her eyes were so beautiful, this dark kind of blue and I like it when she sleeps, for she is so beautiful yet so unaware of it.

"yeah well, doesn't matter. did you see Jay anytime this time? I'd really use some coke." he nodded his head and turned the tv on.

"I need it too, haven't seen him though."

"well fuck. I'll try to get in contact with him " I took the tv remote and switched the channel, even though, honestly I didn't care what was on. we ended watching some stupid reality show where people competed for what? money? fame? i wonder if people are literally so stupid or are just playing because who would actually be that stupid?

"yo Matty, do you remember what happened in that club some days ago?" putting my hands around my head I replied.

"whatever did, I'm trying not to remember it." I rubbed my eyes.

"man, you beat the shit out of that guy who was getting onto your girl."

"first of all, she's not my girl. and second, I was drunk. of course I was aggressive."

"whatever you say." he sighed and we watched the TV in silence, both deep in our thoughts, that were, presumably, as depressive as they could get.

boohoo, miserable men.

the thing was, all I could think of was Elizabeth.
