I stood under the lights that shone brightly onto the stage, George's drums, Ross' bass and Adam's guitar were filling my ears, while my mind was still filled with the thoughts of her.

the crowd was amazing, it was exhilarating to stand there, to see it all. all those people here just for us.

"we are the 1975 from Manchester, are you enjoying yourselves?"

the crowd cheered and I heard some 'I love you Matty.' which made me smile.

"This song is... a love song I wrote for a girl I had sex with."

people started to scream and laugh.
The thing was, this wasn't funny.

I took a deep breath before continuing.

"I wrote this song about one girl who still didn't quite left my mind... " I sighed as the memories of her raced through my head. I remembered how she laughed and how she cried and how she made me feel so much.

"she was one special woman and the song is about true love. All or nothing. Something we all dream of. With her, it kind of felt like that." I turned around and nodded into George's direction. Adam already started playing the first few chords.

"if you love someone, you should tell them. Don't wait until they're six feet under. I'm too late, but, I love you Elizabeth."

people's expressions changed from happy and cheerful to maybe shocked? somehow sad?

"She had a face straight outta magazine
God only knows but you'll never leave her
Her balaclava is starting to chafe
And when she gets his gun he's begging, "Babe, stay, stay, stay, stay, stay."

I'll give you one more time
We'll give you one more fight
Said one more line
Will I know you

Now if you never shoot, you'll never know
And if you never eat, you'll never grow
You've got a pretty kind of dirty face
And when she's leaving your home she's begging you, "Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay."

I'll give you one more time
We'll give you one more fight
Said one more line
Be a riot, cause I know you

Well, now that you've got your gun
It's much harder now the police have come
Now I'll shoot him if it's what you ask
But if you just take off your mask
You find out everything's gone wrong.

Now everybody's dead
And they're driving past my old school
He's got his gun, he's got his suit on
She says, "Babe, you look so cool, you look so cool, you look so cool, cool, cool, cool
You look so cool, you look so cool, you look so cool, cool, cool, cool, cool."

I cried because she died. And I cried because she lived. I cried because I loved her. I cried because she was hopeless. I cried because she could be saved anyways. Because no one is hopeless after all.

I looked around, hoping I'd see Elizabeth's face; no matter how impossible that was.

I still hoped.

"is it hopeless to think about unreachable things or is it just a thing people do when they still have hope?"
