Chapter 13

 We were about an hour into the trip back home when we hit traffic, for whatever reason there was traffic at 10 am on a Wednesday and it was making me angry.

"Why the fuck, is there traffic at this time of the morning on a school day" I groaned and looked at Bil.

"I don't mamas, maybe there was an accident further up" she said and placed her hand on my thigh, stroking it.

I looked in the rear vision mirror to find the three in the back passed out, their heads resting on each other's shoulders. Billie looked behind her and took a photo of them, putting it on her story.

"You know people from our school will see that and recognise them, right?" I asked Bil who looked at me with a smile.

She squeezed my thigh gently and patted it.

"Yeah" she told me and looked around the car. She stroked the dash and turned to me again.

"I must say my Dodge is sexy, but this is one fine ass car baby" she complimented my beauty.

"Yep, I love this car with my whole being. Nothing on the planet I love more than her" I said chuckling.

"How did you afford this anyways?" she asked me.

"Oh well uh, it was my Dad's car, but when I turned 17, he gave it to me as a present, but got it refurbished with a new tyres, Bluetooth and stuff" I told her.

"Very lucky" she said, and I nodded in agreement.

"So what's your family like, do I need to prepare myself for anything out of the blue. Any crazy relatives?" she asked laughing with a scared look.

"No, to be honest my Mum barely knew who you were when I asked to go to the concert. But Dad never heard the end of me talking about you all the time when your EP and album came out. Then there's Jock but he's a big teddy bear, he's around Fin's age." I told her with a reassuring smile on my face.

"Never stopped talking about before we even met hey?" she teased me with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes at her comment.

"Well I think it's cute baby" she said squeezing my thigh again.

"Thanks Bil" I mumbled.

I continued to roll through the traffic and we eventually got out. And the best part of the whole thing was that it was a phantom crash. For those of you who don't know what they are, I couldn't be fucked in explaining because they get me so mad. But long story short, one dumbass slows down to a ridiculous speed, causing the person behind them to break, then the person behind them and so on. Causing a pile up of breaking cars.

The playlist playing in the car was my car one and consisted of a bunch of hype songs along with Billie's. Wish You Were Gay came on and I turned it up when Billie began singing along.

I turned to her and watched the girl next to me sing it, pouring her heart into the song. She grabbed my hand when the chorus hit and opened her eyes looking at me.

"I just wanna make you feel okay
But all you do is look the other way, mm" She sung and moved her body to the beat of the bass.

"I can't tell you how much I wish I didn't wanna stay
I just kinda wish you were gay" I started to sing with her.

Somewhere between belting out the next verse and hitting the woah she threw me in the chorus, I pulled over for a pit stop at the next gas station. Billie turned to me and flashed a grin, then leaned over to my side of the car. What's she playing at?

Next thing I know the not only honked the horn but held it down until Zoe started screaming.

"God Bil I would of rather you slap me in the face then wake up to that scare!" Zoe yelled at her from the back and moved to the giggling girl, flicker her forehead.

"Ow baby, she hurt me. I think I need a kiss" she told me in a funny voice and pouted her lips.

Giggling I grabbed her face, pressing a sweet kiss to her forehead then lips. Before I got a chance to pull away, she deepened it and grabbed the front of my hoodie. Well her hoodie, but there is no chance in hell she will get it back.

"Ewwww. That's not how I want to wake up from a blissful nap" Lucy said, scrunching up her face.

I faced her and gave her the finger. To which she responded maturely with flipping me off in return.

"Whatever, I need to piss. Let's go ma" Billie said to me, hopping out of my car and waited for me.

"Do you guys want anything, or will you come in?" I asked them.

"I might come in, depends on my amount of motivation" Lucy said.

I looked at Pen then Zoe.

"Yeah I might as well get some food and go to the toilet" Zoe said and Penelope nodded her head, agreeing.

I took Billie's in mine as I walked past her and dragged her into the gas station with me. I looped my bag around my body with my free hand and fished out my phone, to find 9+ notifications from Snap and Instagram. Well shit.

I stopped walking, making Billie stop as my hand held her back. I unlocked my phone to see messages upon messages asking why Pen and Lucy were on Billie's story with Zoe, and why were we with Zoe at the concert on Maggie's story.

"Ummm Billie? Slight problem people from school are asking why we are with you" I informed her fearfully.

"Shit, well uhhhh... Don't answer them but if that's too sus then either make something up or say that Zoe is family friend of one of you guys and planned a day visit so they don't try see us" she said while thinking about the situation we were in.

I guess I won't answer them now, but if it gets worse, I will have to. I just don't want anyone ruining our time together and making Billie and her family uncomfortable and chase her away from me. Fuck that.

"Yeah ok, I won't answer them now but if it gets too much, I will say that Claudia is a family friend from when my parents lived in the states years ago. I just don't want people to try and follow us around if they find out" I told her with a small smile.

"Hey, it'll be ok Harrington, no one is going to chase me away from you. You're going to have to put up with me and my shit from now on" she said, laughing lightly.

I nodded my head, still feeling uneasy about the whole situation but put it in the back of my mind as Billie grabbed my hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. I pecked her cheek and we caught up to the girls who were already inside buying snacks for the rest of the drive.

Not even a second after walking into the store Billie was dragged out of my grasp buy an overly excited Zoe.

"Bil they have Hot Cheetos and Takis!" she yelled at her best friend with wide eyes.

I have never seen Billie so excited in my life at the news.

"THEY WHAT? WHERE?" she yelled and rushed to where Zoe pointed.

Billies head snapped up and looked at me , and I already knew the request that was about to come my way. I walked over to where the two joyful American's were and loaded my arms with bags of Takis that Billie put in my arms, carrying them to the counter.

The young girl behind the counter looked up with a bored face and asked "is that all for today" giving me a weird glance after she noticed the large amount of chips I put on the counter.

"Umm I don't think so" I said as I saw Billie, Zoe, Lucy and Penelope approaching the counter with their arms full of the packets of chips after cleaning the shelves free.
