"My babies all grown up" dad cried out dramatically and looked at Jock and I then turned to mum "she's our last one and she's graduating today!"
"I know hun" she laughed and rubbed his shoulder.
"Dad stop" I whined and wrapped my arms around him "you'll make me cry and I don't want mascara on my uniform yet"
This morning is my last ever morning of going to high school, but it's literally only for a few hours.
It's tradition to have a seniors assembly and then a clap out. Which is where all the students from year seven to eleven and all the staff, teachers, families and friends of the graduating class line-up along the school and clap everyone out.
It's just so weird for me to think that I'm going to be the person being clapped out. After so many years of watching the seniors leave and watching friends leave it's finally my time.
"I'll see you guys at school later" I said my goodbyes to my family and left to get breakfast for the last time before school with Pen and Lucy.
Billie called me yesterday saying that their flights were delayed and she was doing her best to get here in time for the clap out at least.
I'm both excited and shit scared of seeing her. Especially in a public setting.
I have no idea of how I will react in the moment when I see her. I don't know if I'll want to kiss her or cry on her shoulder of just seeing her again.
But now I don't even know if she'll be here in time.
"My girl!" Pen yelled out from the driveway as I pulled up and pushed Lucy out of the way while calling shotgun.
"You dumb slut!" Lucy yelled even louder and chased after her but tripped over her own feet and scrapped her knee a little.
"It's not funny" she grumbled and got into the car as Pen and I were wheezing and crying from laughing so much.
"Are-are you... ok?" I managed to ask her through my laughing.
"Holy shit" Penelope laughed even harder and pointed at Lucy's knee "so-so much f-fake tan she didn't even bleed" we burst out laughing and I had trouble breathing from how funny this was.
Lucy now has a white scratch on her knee and the rest of it is a bronzy orange from her tan for our graduation dinner tonight.
"This is such a stitch up! I'm going to have to fake tan again when I get home. Shit! I'm not even going home, I'm going straight to the hairdressers after clap out"
"You'll be fine, your dress should cover your knee anyways" I told her and pulled out of the driveway beginning our drive to the café.
"But my slit is on the right side, and it's my right knee" she whined "of course this happens to me"
"Just fake tan at the hairdressers, it's not like your doing your whole body" Pen told her.
"Yeah, true I guess"
"So when is Billie getting here?" Lucy asked as we were eating our food.
"Honestly I don't know, she called me yesterday morning saying her flight was delayed but she was adamant on making sure to be here for the clap out. Plus she kind of has to come now because mum bought an extra ticket to graduation dinner for her even though I told her not to"
