Chapter 20

We ended up spending a good 5 to 6 hours on the river and left after Billie ran out of Takis and we were all sunburnt beyond belief. Billie and I were now on our way to the shops after dropping off Fin and Claudia to buy ingredients for the promised burritos that she's craving.

The sun was starting to go down and golden hour was in our midst. Billie started taking some hot as fuck selfies with her deadpan face, then smiling and a few winking and scrunching her face up cutely. She then faced the camera towards me and took a few of me driving and I laughed when she told me to look at her but not crash.

I pulled into a parking space and we got out of the car. I brought the disposable camera's with me so I could drop them off at the camera shop to get developed. I tossed Billie a white, floppy bucket hat so it would be harder to recognise her and took a photo from behind her as she began walking in. She realised I wasn't next to her and turned around with a pout, again I had to take photos.

"Come here" she whined and opened her arms. Who could say no to that? I jogged up to her and flung myself into her arms. She kissed my cheek and wrapped an arm around my waist as we began walking towards the store. I continued scrolling through my photos and posted the photo of Billie walking towards the store, but you could barely tell it was her because of the plain baggy tee and large hat covering her head.

"Harri!" someone called out to me. Fuck me, why here? Why now with Bil?

I felt Billies grip around my waist tighten, but I quickly reassured her it'd be fine. I turned around to find the source who yelled out my name and saw it was Holly one of the girls from school. She jogged up to us not noticing Billie yet.

"Hey, you haven't been at school or trainings for anything are you good?" she asked before glancing at Billie, I saw her eyes widen and she gasped.

"What the fuck, Billie Eilish!" threw her hands up in astonishment.

I threw her a look "shhh we are trying to not be noticed Holly"

Billie started laughing at the girls reaction and let go of my waist to give her a hug. I felt cold and instantly a little bitter, but I knew she was greeting Holly like she would to any fan.

"Hello love, how are you?" Billie pulled away.

"Confused as fuck, how the hell does Harrington know you? Omg does that mean Finneas and Claudia are here too? And Maggie and Patrick?"

Well looks like the Claudia excuse is out of the window, I could feel Billie's uneasiness as she too was trying to think of an answer.

"Oh... well. Bils manager is an old friend of dad's from the States. And he offered dad tickets for Pen, Lucy and I and the opportunity to meet Billie. Then they told us they booked a small trip around here and I've been showing them around, hence why I haven't been at trainings or school" hopefully that explanation doesn't is as believable as I hope. Lying isn't my specialty but I pulled that off pretty well.

"That's so sick Harri, now I understand why Pen and Lucy were on your story" she looked at Billie who was trying to hold in her laugh. I elbowed her side subtly to tell her to calm down.

"They were full dipping on everyone's questions saying that it was complicated and a long ass story, but that makes sense. Plus we were all confused when we saw her Instagram account and Zoe's was following yours" she added, oh dear God thank you Lucy and Pen for not saying anything and avoiding everyone like the plague.

Holly looked at Billie then nervously smiled "would you mind if we took a photo?"

"Of course not love, come here" Billie opened her arms and Holly handed me her phone before wrapping her arms around Billi.
