Cactus

If we were all plants
What would you be ?
Would you be the daffodils
Whose beauty lies in its simplicity
Or would you be the bright sunflower
Who brings a smile on everyone's face
Would you be the rose
Whose beauty costs pain
Or would you be the touch me not
Who closes at every place
As for me
Among all the beautiful plants
I would be the cactus
For my roots run deep
In search of things I love and need
I stand in the scorching sun
Covered in thorns that keep you away
But don't worry don't hide
Come close
Look closer
And see how soft I am inside
