Sometimes I feel breathless,
Like I am underwater
Separated from the world
And like we were taught in school,
Light slows down in water
Everything slows down for me
Everything look distorted and out of place,
And I feel numb
Sometimes I feel breathless,
And I can hear my heartbeats
Ruminating against my ribs
So, I turn up the music
But all I can hear are the lyrics,
Until the point they are just some words
Thrown into a dark abyss
And my thoughts fold upon themselves
Again and again and again,
Until they are concentrated at a single point
Just like the universe was before the big bang,
When, there was nothing
Sometimes I feel breathless,
So I open the window
And smell the night air
It smells of smoke and loneliness and tranquility,
I open a book
To find the perfect part to read
But every word is reread a thousand times
There is no perfect page,
So I flick through the story
To reach the unknown point
And I get lost in the journey
Until I am the protagonist, the antagonist, the side characters
I run, I fall, I get scared, I love, I die
I feel the most alive,
I feel breathless
